| I absolutely adore this woman to NO freakin' end. I've been a fan of hers ever since I saw the movie Sleepwalkers and they played her song "Boadicea" throughout the whole thing. That was about...8 years ago? The first album I purchased was The Celts and even though I thought it was unique, and beautiful, I didn't consider myself a big enough fan until her Best Of compilation came out...To this day I never leave the house without it! I simply can NOT get sick of it. [img]smilies/thumbs_up.gif[/img] The only other albums of hers I have are Shepherd Moons and A Day Without Rain, but I still think she's brilliant enough to be considered one of my favs. Her inner beauty shows through her gorgeous voice and music. [img]smilies/sigh.gif[/img] I really really really want to get The Memory of Trees (after all the title track is one of the most breath-taking songs on the Best Of album!), but what album would others in this thread suggest I check out next??? Oh and here's a seriously dumb question - who is it that sings on the Titanic soundtrack? I'm not talking about that lame Celine Dion song either. | Yay for more posts. [img]smilies/wiggle.gif[/img] Kryssi: I know what Titanic song you're talking about -- and sadly it isn't by Enya [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]. But it does sound a lot like "Book of Days" (from Shepherd Moons and the Far and Away soundtrack). As far as other CD's to get by her, you basically have the essentials -- Shepherd Moons and A Day Without Rain are the best ones by her thus far, IMO. Although, did you say you already had Watermark? The Memory of Trees is great too (the song and the album), so that's a winner...basically everything she's ever done -- including Only Time, 'cause it has some B-sides that are pretty hard to find elsewhere. | The first time I've heard of Enya was when i saw the music video for "Anywhere Is" and i still have it on tape. I can't believe that was in 1995. But I think a few weeks or months after that I purchased "The Memory of Trees" and I bought a used CD of Shepherd Moons. Hopefull soon I will get Enya's greatest hits CDs. At the time I didn't know where she was from. I thought she was British until when i saw her on the Rosie O' Donnel show a few years back. There she mentioned she was Irish. I love her music, so calming. | |||

[img]smilies/thumbs_up.gif[/img] Before A Day Without Rain came out, that song and "Afer Ventus" were my faves. But now that it's been out (and continues to make sales, I might add [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]), they're a very close second to "One by One" and "Flora's Secret", but more so "One by One". BTW, have you all visited the Moonshadows site? It's so fantastic, the link's in the opener -- I fully recommend it.
