| Classic Rock - AC/DC, Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, you name it! Hi everyone, new to this particular board.... I searched and searched and searched and couldn't find a thread like this one. If there's already an existing one, please point me in the direction of it!  Anyway, if there's not, this thread is for good ol' classic rock 'n roll! I'm a new fan to rock music, actually (sorry, all you hardcore fans out there!) - I've been converted by the movie "School of Rock". Awesome movie, and even better music. So, who do we have here who's a fan of classic rock? Well...... 1) EphramIsHot is a fan of classic rock, but you can call her Janelle. Her fave bands include AC/DC, Led Zepplin, The Ramones, The Doors, The Darkness, and The Who and she just can't get enough of the songs Shook me All Night Long and Touch Me. She'd also like you to know that she sings, and that School of Rock is one the best rock movies out there!. Rock on! 2) *Sabbath blody girl* is a fan of classic rock, but you can call her Marigold. Her fave bands include Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dyaln, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Blondy, Sex Pistols, Deep Purple, The Ramones, Beach Boys, Jimy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Mamas and the Papas, and Neil Young and she just can't get enough of the songs Stairway to Heaven, Vera, and Comfortably Numb. She'd also like you to know that she also loves all types of music, her fave band is Nirvana, and right now, she's loving all this new English rock. Rock on! 3) McGrawchick is a fan of classic rock, but you can call her Angie. Her fave bands include KISS, Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Loverboy, Survivor, and Van Halen and she just can't get enough of the songs Panama, Pour Some Sugar on Me, and Lick it Up. She'd also like you to know that she's seen many of them in concert, because, well, she's OLD compared to most of us! Rock on! 4) Inner Fantasy is a fan of classic rock. Her fave bands include The Doors, AC/DC, Janis Joplin, Mamas and the Papas, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Beatles, Beach Boys, Aerosmith, Bob Marley and she just can't get enough of the songs Back in Black, California Dreamin', and No Woman No Cry.. She'd also like you to know that her Dad had over 1,000 classic vinyl albums and his legacy is solid as the ultimate rock n' roll fan. He also saw Led Zeppelin at the Fillmore back in the day! Rock on! 5) -.cathy.- is a fan of classic rock, but you can call her Cathy. Her fave bands include Ramones, Sex Pistols, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, and others.. and she just can't get enough of the songs God Save the Queen and Back in Black. She'd also like you to know that she's learning guitar and is saving up to buy and electric. Rock on! 6) Maxi is a fan of classic rock. Her fave bands include Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith, Kiss, The Doors, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Van Halen and Def Leppard and she just can't get enough of the songs Light My Fire and Walk This Way. She'd also like you to know that she clearly remembers when the first unofficial/unauthorized pictures of Kiss without the make up surfaced, and how much talk there was about that fact back in the day. | Fan Forum's Finest   | I`m also a big fan of Classic Rock. Listening to those songs makes me wish that i lived back in the 70`s. My favorite classic rock groups/artists are Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Queen, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Kiss, Thin Lizzy, and Red Hot Chili Peppers(yes they`re a classic rock group now since i`ve heard Under the Bridge on my hometown`s classic rock station). __________________ Join the Mila Kunis, Alexander Skarsgård and Lost Girl campaigns and vote for the best thing to ever come out of Ukraine, the Viking God and Canada`s hottest show! | Whoot whoot! Yay classic rock! The only avs I have are the School of Rock one I'm currently using, made for me over on the Webmasters page. Cute, no? So, how about we make a list of our fave songs and artists and stuff? Here's some of mine: AC/DC: Shook me all night long, Back in black, highway to hell, thunderstruck (the good ol' classics) Led Zepplin: The Immigrant song Deep Purple: Smoke on the Water The Darkness: I believe in a thing called love, Growing on me Red Hot Chilli Peppers: By the way, Under the Bridge, The Zephyr song The Ramones: My brain is hanging upside down Go ahead, add yours! By the way, I decided to add all classic rock fans to a list at the beginning post. So could you guys fill out this survey-ish thing?(Your nickname here) is a fan of classic rock, but you can call him/her (whatever you want to be called). | It's always fun to have people discover the "old" music! I have most of this stuff on vinyl because I lived through the 70's! And I even remember some of it.  You have a great list started. All good choices. I would add - Led Zepplin - Black Dog and Rock and Roll from Led Zepplin IV (with Stairway to Heaven too) Also - Led Zepplin - Houses of the Holy album - The Song Remains the Same. I would highly recommend adding the band Rush - "Moving Pictures" album, songs - Tom Sawyer, Red Barchetta, and Limelight to your list. And Kansas - Greatest Hits album - Carry On My Wayward Son, Point of Know Return. It's more 80's and a little more mellow, but outstanding music. And please check out Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear the Reaper," and "Godzilla." Black Sabbath - Iron Man, Paranoid, Crazy Train And just about anything by Pink Floyd.  __________________ "It's a feeling like no other..." Roswell, a feeling I'll always remember. | |||

| I L-O-V-E classic rock. I nearly have all of Led Zep's albums. I have quite a few of Judas Priest's as well. Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf is one of the best songs of the 60s, IMO. The Who, are great. Rolling Stones! The Beatles (of course)... Motley Crue, Lynyrd Skynyrd...oh and Queen! Bohemian Rhapsody is my favourite Queen song but all of them are awesome. Classic rock...is such a big part of my life. PS - I love "Don't Fear the Reaper". That's an awesome song. __________________ | |||

| "Clasic Rock" Those were the days.... I'm such a big rock fan...since i was...i dont know 12?¿?.....now i'm 21 so...it's been a long time of listening bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Janis Joplin, Jimy Hendrix, The Doors, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Beach Boys, The Who, Queen, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Blondy, David Bowie, Rush, etc... and so much more... My music worls is all about Pink Floyd....i saw Roger Waters last year....live...one of the greatest moments in my life....i was hoping to see David Gilmore...but as you should know...(if you're really clasic rock fans)...Pink Floyd is not longer together since....like 20 years....and Roger Waters and David Gilmore (vocalist and guitar player) are playing concerts under the name of "Pink Floyd" in separate ways....tho Roger Waters is not using Pink Floyd's name like David Gilmore does....Syd Barret is another story, so... I saw Eric Clapton live too....that was really amaizing!....another great moment in my music world... But i dont know if RHCP or The Darkness classify as "Clasic Rock" tho.....RHCP is part of the rock of the '90s....and The Darkness has the influence of Queen's Clasic rock, but nothing else....clasic rock for me is the old school of rock....where everything started!!.... There's so many bands that remainds me of that time, like JET, The Darkness, , etc... __________________ C'MON!!!! | Yeah, Jet and The Darkness are great. Sadly, I didn't live through the 70s (I wish!  ) but it's nice to just be discovering all this great music now!
