Maybe they didn't have the albums that song was on.

My Uncle Steve is a HUGE Carpenters fan; he got every album they had as soon as it came out. My dad made his cassettes from my uncle's records.

Guess it wasn't one of his favorites, then. Most of the songs on the cassettes came from pre-1975 albums, even though he made the cassettes in the early '80s.

Oh yeah, that's probably why. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be a favorite though. It's such a beautiful song.

It might have made him too sad. He nearly gets in tears whenever the family talks about her. (I flat out bawl, but he's a grown man and can't be seen doing such things )
