Buying concert tickets at the concert

I've got a bit of a problem. The concert that I was excited about going to, Jack Johnson in Vancouver, is sold out. I still plan on going - actually, I'm pretty much obsessed with the thought of it now - but I'm not sure how to go about getting tickets. I'm checking out prices on ebay and I'm posting the odd message on various Jack Johnson boards, but I know that that is far from a 100% percent chance of actually getting anything at all.

I know that I'll probably end up going to the concert ticketless in the hopes of buying something not-too-expensive from a scalper. I just don't know how to go about doing that. I've always had my tickets long before the day of the show, and I've never had to deal with the stress of finding a seller who isn't going to take me for all I'm worth.

Can I get a little help as to how to get the tickets I want and still keep most of my money in the bank where it belongs?

You can nearly -always- find someone outside of a sold out show trying to sell a ticket. It depends entirely on the generosity of the person as to whether they're going to rip you off or not, but if you've got some cash to burn you may as well give it a go.

Call the venue and ask if they plan on releasing any more tickets. Some venues will do this on the day of, or a few days before a sold out show. I have no idea why.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'd just go with buying from someone who's selling outside the venue. Try bargaining if they're demanding a ridiculously high price.

If you wait a little, you might also find they drop the price just as the concert is about to start. After all, some money is better than a useless ticket once the show's over.

Also try checking out forums for the artist you want to see. Most of the time, someone always posts a message about selling tickets since they're not able to go.
