Anyway. Just to start off:

As for the concert question, since she has never been to Australia, the answer is safely no. Dammit. I love that pic of her and her 5 Grammys, even though she's practically dropping one of them, heh.

I've been a fan of Alicia's since the first album. I've seen her live once and it was a really good show, love the way she mixes it up on the piano and off.

Hehe, you're partly the reason I started it..I was midway through replying there and it was becoming more like an AK post rather than an idol related one..

I wonder if she'll come out soon..It seems like everyone who's popular o/s is coming here..Justin, Black Eyed Peas, nerd, Christina, Kelis..Alicia needs to get her arse down here..Perhaps if she did Diary sales would go up. (Do you know what it charted at? I don't even remember it ever being in it but it must have, right?) Speaking of..Have you got the double cd tina? I only have the regular one but come September Sanity will have it in stock! And it's apparently going to have the Diary (the song) clip on it!

The If I Aint Got You ft Usher remix is included on the bonus disc..Not really liking that as he sings a bit too high but it's okay..And *his* album is going to be repackaged to include his duet with Alicia (My Boo. << that song)

Did you ever find the IIAGY and You Don't Know my name singles? I don't even think they released them, did they? It seems like Australia has forgotten her since Songs In.

I've been listening to Girlfriend obsessively lately..I use to dislike it when I first heard it. It was my skip song on the cd. Now I can't stop playing it..

Have yall heard her songs done on strings? There's this link I had where you can check out a bunch of her songs done by some string quartet..It's nice when you want to hear mellow music..You Don't Know My Name is realllllly repetitive though. I'll try and get the link.

Evie, the majority of my posts were turning into AK ones as well, so this is a good idea.

Double CD? Nope, but I definitely plan to buy it when it comes out. I love both "My Boo" and the IIAGY remix, they sound great on both tracks.

I haven't found the singles but I'd heard them on the radio (wasn't too pleased to hear YDKMN totally edited, I love her phone call! hee) various times and I've also seen the clip for You Don't Know...several times on shows like Video Hits, Rage and Channel V, I think. So she must've released them here if they're getting radio play. And I have no idea what number Diary peaked at, but I do know that A Minor hit no. 1 and went platinum a few times.

Link, link, please! And as if You Don't Know My Name wasn't repetitive enough. I too think her sales would increase if she came down here, airplay on the radio too - even if it was only a promo visit. I really doubt it though. Isn't she touring in Europe now?

I'll buy Usher's album when it's rereleased even though I normally wouldn't go near anything by him..ah the things I do for ak.. As for My Boo..ohh I love it! It's such a cute song! Biased however..Ak makes this song so good..I'd hate it if someone like Beyonce or Ashanti was asked to do this song with him..

I think My Boo is the better of the 2 (mb/iiagy) so if they put that on Alicia's album rather than Usher's I think more people would take notice of her album..Hey, maybe they'll put them both on her album.

I never ever saw them in the stores, but you're right..it had to have been released sometime as it had airplay..ahhh. I want them though, just for the collection.

Diary is in the r&b charts..It's low though. They really didn't market her (here) well the second time round.

Hehe, but the strings arrangement is done to play the whole song fully through..so as there's no singing or anything it just seems to go on forever!

She might come..if all those previously mentioned have toured..perhaps she'll take notice of it and come too!
You never know..I read somewhere that she recently toured some country that she'd never even heard of before..some country where english isn't even a first language. If they got her, we might too! (grasping at straws but hey, I have hope..hehe)

She was..I think she's finished now cos she did some performances in the US to promote Diary.

Apparently we're getting Karma as our 3rd release but I have no idea when it'll come out..

It buffered a hell of a lot in real player so I suggest using windows media player (unless you've got a really good connection)
With windows media player i just left it like that (after it started) and came back once it played fully through. that way i could seek any part of it without it buffering because it had already loaded.

I managed to save the stream as a wav file by using the sound studio on my mac..perhaps you can do the same when you get it as it's annoying having to link up just to hear it.

I finally caught the video for "Diary" the other day. I haven't seen it on MTV but I caught on BET a couple of times so far. I thought she could've done a better job w/it, all she really did was show highlights of her tour onstage/backstage. But whatever.

Anyway, to the questions that were asked in the beginning.

Yep, I got it for Christmas last year. I love 1-8 but after that it all goes down hill for me.

-Have you seen her in concert?

I was at the first date for her concert with Tamia/Beyonce/and Missy. I think Alicia killed it. She even did better than Beyonce.

-Favourite songs?

It was "Aint got you" but that song got played out so now it's really nothing.

Of course!!! I will always support my favorite singer(along with Usher of course)! I htink she is an amazing artist and she plays the piano like me!(only shes a little better)

The concert came right to my hometown and I didnt get to go so I was kind of mad but its ok!

And I love her album as well! Just like you I like the first 10 songs or so but then the rest is ok!

And my favorite song still is "If I Aint Got You" because now she did a remix to it with Usher and they are my 2 favs!

Age & Colie: yall really thought the album went downhill towards the end? I really love When You Really Love Someone. That's my favourite track from the album! I also like Wake Up and Samsonite Man but yeah, besides those I'd have to agree..I skip the rest of those tracks.

Wake Up sounds like Loving U but I still really like it.

Age: Tamia was at the ladies first concert as well?! Ah so lucky. Tina, we're so deprived over here. That'd be a great concert to go to but I think I'd rather had Licia for the whole thing rather than Missy and Beyonce..
