Hey, that's a great thread! I love to see the covers of the albums I listen to even if I don't have the physical albums...
Some of these covers are really cool indeed. I'll come back later with a few of my favourite album covers... __________________

Yes! great idea!
I'll look at my albums and post soon. Auré ETA: here are 3 of my favorites, for the drawings, the creativity, the light... __________________

The best cover would be this one IMO.

Great thread. I think that in the age of iTunes and digital music people have lost the appreciation for a proper, physical CD. No matter the accessibility of getting whatever song you wish online - and you can buy only one or two songs which is something I really appreciate - there's nothing quite like queuing up in the store, buying the CD, feeling the anticipation on the way home, getting home and opening up the CD, putting it in the CD player and looking at the artwork/lyrics as the album plays. Even if you're not buying a new CD the excitement and the sheer physicality of holding the CD in your hands, you can't replace that feeling.
But sorry to waffle on, this is hands down my most favourite cover: And these are several good alternative as well: I've always liked the Patrick Watson cover, and of course the Sigur Ros one - not so sure about the Bjork one though Jose __________________

Couldn't have said it better myself, Gwen. There's nothing like buying the physical CD/LP.
And, hey, I was just coming here to post these Beirut covers! They're fantastic indeed! I didn't know this Nada Surf cover, but it's great. An album cover that I'm surprised nobody has posted here yet is the cover of Nirvana's Nevermind: ETA: Another cover I really like: __________________

I agree goodnightboy theres nothing like owning a CD, and seeing it there sitting next to your player just gives you the feeling of being part of that artists world, even reading their "thanks" section makes me happy. It also makes you feel like more of a credible fan sometimes
This is one I really like , just for the simplicity in the message and symbolic chicken waiting to cross the road. thats what I got in it anyway. |
