J-Lo and her husband need to be stopped. Now.

I wasn't very impressed by the opening act to be honest. Everyone sounded a bit blah.

Jamie Fox and Alicia Keys were really good though. The girl never ceases to amaze me when she's on stage, she always sounds great.

i don't really care too much about her but she's always so amazing when she's live on stage. she puts me in a state of awe everytime i see her live.

i loved jlo's dress. didn't really care too much about the performance but that dress was beautiful.

Same here, really.

The whole Sweet Home Alabama performance was nice. I didn't know half of the people on stage (I'm not American) though.

Man, Kanye looked pissed.

I'm watching and have enjoyed every performance so far.

Kanye better win an award though or I'll flip.

ETA: Woot! His speech rocked! He deserved that award for doing what rap artists now don't - write beyond the subjects of girls, sex, partying, and whatever. 'Flaunt it' is what I say.

I'm very happy that Maroon5 and Alicia Keys won Grammys tonight! They really deserved them.

There were several good performances, but I'm a country girl at heart so I loved Tim McGraw and the southern rock collaboration that ended with Sweet Home Alabama! (One of my all-time faves since I've been born and raised in Alabama.)

My thoughts on the Grammy's:

For one it was way too long. 27 performers! They should have had 5 or 6. I wanted to see more awards presented, personally.

I was happy that Alicia Keyes, Kanye West, Green Day, U2, ect all won awards.
I thought Kanye's speech was awesome and one of the best moments of the night.

As for album of the year, I thought Kanye should have won but I wanted Usher to win because I wanted to see Lil Jon get up on the stage and make a speech. How funny would that be? But you can't be mad at Ray Charles for winning.

However, I feel like Ray Charles is being exploited as well as celebrated this year. Everyone loves his music and anyone who is a avid music fan knows that he was a genius PRIOR to the movie ray. Whenever I see an advisement for him I feel like they are plugging the movie instead.

I think Jamie Foxx's appearance was really unnecessary. I am sick of seeing him on my TV and frankly, I have yet to hear someone to justice to his music. So, I wish people would stop singing it. I love Usher,Bonnie,Alicia Keyes, ect but the only person who has the right tone to their voice for his songs has been BB King.
I love Ray Charles's music I just question some of the motives behind the promotion sometimes (ex- the super bowl).

On another note- I am so happy that Prince won. B Spears finally won a Grammy for toxic. I can't believe Kanye beat out Jay-Z, but I am happy for him. Overall interesting award show.

Whoa, Britney actually won? That's awesome!

I didn't watch the awards obviously.. My parents were hogging the tv and I was too lazy to try and kick them off.

I didn't know there were 27 performers! I thought there was less than 10.

The Grammy's was quite okay. I enjoyed the Ray Charles tribute. But the true highlight for me was Maroon 5 winning that grammy. They deserved it. And Alicia of course, the epitomy of talent. I love that girl.
