When Ryan released "Elm Street", it contained two songs that Rubix Groove had played together as a band. Those songs were "In My Life" and "Last Winter". So I really don't think he started playing an entirely different type of music.
Just because he changed his image a little bit, doesn't mean that he was copying Howie Day. Ryan has said before that he is a fan of Howies, but he has also said that he is a bigger fan of Dave Matthews. Maybe his inspiration came from Dave. __________________
