Of course it was. She just got them back and then they were leaving her again. That would be hard on anyone.

When she said " I guess I am just one of those people that don't get to be part of a family", it broke my heart.

Yes mine too. Booth had the perfect response to that when he said "there's more tha one type of family."

She really leaned on them. It had to hurt even though she only was able to see her father a brief moment in "Judas Pole", but to see him drive off and take Russ. And leave her, that had to be heartbreaking. Thank god she had her Jeffersonian family, and Booth. It caused her a lot of issues...

To know he was alive, it would have almost been better to learn that her father was dead like her mother so she could come to terms with easier. But to have him out, and initially staying away from her because of the danger level. And because he wasn't ready to be caught yet.

I respected him for coming back at the end of the season, and allowed himself to be caught and was able to then spend time with his daughter. As much as initially she faught it, she got that chance...

And then had 10 years to be able to spend together before he was taken away from her again.

I was just thinking about a Christmas episode where Brennan visits her dad in prison and he’s wearing these big large chains around his shoulders and Brennan isn’t even noticing or mentioning it. So her dad asked “don’t you notice these chains I’m wearing?” And she’s like “not really, you’re in prison” like duh. a little aspie moment for her. I can understand why she would just naturally assume a prisoner might wear chains even if they were huge and over exaggerated.

It was a great moment. And very Brennan to just allow it go over her head. She probably thought that her father did something to warrant it, since it was the beginning of how she was coming to terms with her father. And hung up on his background...

That Christmas episode was great that we really got a rare look at Max with his children. And then you saw that Max was seeing that Booth meant something to his daughter, as he brought that great Christmas present to the prison.

A simple tree. But it mean to something to Brennan. You could see Max noticed it. And was a shipper deep down...

He always did want his daughter to find someone and he respected Booth. Even if it should have been the exact opposite given who Max was...

Max wanted them together you could tell. He could see how much Booth cared for his daughter.
