I am sure a part of Max loves that Brennan was able to create a life that is way from the criminal element which was such a part of his life with his wife and early life of the children. Yet he couldn't help but feel the draw to commit crimes (to protect family, most of the time). So I am sure he was proud that she was able to achieve a life away from it. Even if she married a cop, and lived her life and career in law enforcement. So yeah, Max would be proud that his daughter to play her "Brennan gene" when needed.
And tap into the dark side that could be there... when called upon. __________________

Yes I'm sure Max was happy Brennan was able to create a life away from the criminal elements. And I'm sure he was happy she could embrace the Brennan gene when she had to.

As she remarked later on in the series. Books were really her outlet in foster care, and then she worked hard to accomplish all she did and yet she was missing her family, and Russ and a wall was built. And it was a lot of kicking down the blocks of that wall, and even then it took a lot of time and care.

I loved that they kept Max around. Ryan McNeal was a perfect choice. He had the right amount of edge to Max, but could play the loving father who just wanted his daughter to love him again, or at least trust him.
It was a fun evolution, and very touching... One of the great things about a lengthy television show... you can see the evolution. __________________

Yes I was glad they kept him around as well. Ryan played Max so well. Gave him all his great characteristics.
