It definitely was. If they had rushed them getting together or took too much more time it might not have worked.

And the fact that Brennan and Booth had so many differences, and yet the show made it work in terms of their relationship. And when they gave them some hard times, it was realistic given all that was going on at the time.

Not putting them together wasn't going to be able to last much longer, so they picked the right time....

Even if fans wished that had seen the "first time".

It was perfect timing when it finally happened. They had built them up so much at that point.

Given how different they were, and the level of issues Brennan had. It couldn't have been done too early, but were at a risk of taking it too far especially once Brennnan had her epiphany or was away from Booth, and realized how much she missed him.

But because they had such a special chemistry, it could be annoying to see the level of obstacles at keeping them apart.

Brennan's walls were up so high in the beginning, and after what she went through I can't say I blame her. It was nice seeing the walls come down slowly.

Yes they were which is totally understandable. It was nice to see her walls slowly start to come down.

You got to see how far they came. It was truly a journey. The walls came down, but you saw how she grew as a person, and found a new life with her friends at the Jeffersonian but with her family too with the return of Russ than Max, and then finally Booth and the birth of her children.

One of the benefits of a long series, you really get to see the growth. And the chemistry was always there...

Yes definitely since the show went on so long you could see their journey and their growth. And yes the chemistry was there from the beginning.

I don't think the show was intending it to be about whether the pair would get together. It was just supposed to be two opposites teaming up to fight crime, but with David and Emily's chemistry. It really became apparent almost from the beginning that you couldn't deny.

Because I didn't watch the show until late in Season 1, it was fun to go back and you really saw it when Booth rescued her despite being hurt himself in that Mafia case in Season 1. The way they hugged so tightly... Then and there I became a fan...

And even when they weren't even trying, the chemistry was just there... We were so lucky...

Two Bodies in the Lab is easily my favorite episode of the entire series. It was such a great episode. Also the dvd commentary with David and Emily was right.

That episode is one of my favorites, it always will be.

I think they always intended them to get together, they just didn't know when.

And it's so hard to pull the trigger because they really didn't know how the show would go in the aftermath because you had examples of shows not exactly doing well after the main characters were put together.

Although the often spoken Moonlighting curse had other factors in play, which is why that show failed. But it was easy to hold on to that, to protect.

But with Bones, there were so many differences between Booth and Brennan, from minor to major issues that it was easy to find stories to explore those differences and therefore the show was able to thrive after putting them together...

Yeah when I first started watching I thought the show would end with them getting together. But as the seasons went on it became obvious that they would get together sooner. They did it right which is why it worked.
