Bones Discussion: Scientific technology on Bones!

This is the thread for you to come express your disbelief of certain CSI-like crime-solving methods that will undoubtedly pop up on the show.

Think there is no way they actually do that?

Have inside info that *insert method here* is actually effectively used?

This is the thread to discuss the technical aspects of the show!

I'm sure its not exactly 100% the same as they do solve crimes irl. I think they do have the hi-tech stuff to use to solve old cases if need be but i dont think its exactly the same. Good thread

As for tonight's episode, I know that they can make a hologram of the person's body like they did in Angela's computer, but there is no way they can put it in action like they did. Also, I don't care how good you are at puzzles. there's no way Bones could have gotten every single one of those ITTY BITTY fragments back together to make a skull. lol. Maybe scanning each piece a computer could do it, or a person maybe after a few days, but those things were tiny. lol. What do you all think?

I think in the show, they made it easy like this having all the pieces of the skull and having someone being able to put it altogether in one night etc. in order for them to solve to crime fast. After all, it is a TV show and they cannot spend years on one case. But in reality, it's not always that lucky to have so many clues available to fall into place.

That's the problem with all crime shows, you trade realism for time.

I think in the early years, the scientific terms were probably very genuine. But yeah, just like any television crime show. It's not realistic that a high profile crime could be solved that fast, and with all the bell and whistles. Angela's technology. Or Brennan's smarts.

I think it could plauible if you were like Brennan in the early years, and didn't have a life. So, you would immerse yourself and treat the skull like a puzzle, but yeah, the idea it could be just a mere hours, and it's completed... Especially the skulls that were truly smashed LOL. Even if you are very skilled, and obsessive.

But it made the show fun. Just like how involved Hodgins would get with his experiments. Like making working bombs to solve a case.

LOL.
