Okay, recapping the entire eppy in one post for me


6x02 The Couple in the Cave

Brennan: I find it anomalous that you would leave her since you believe so emphatically in the mythical powers of love.
Cop: Do you understand what she’s saying?
Booth: Just nod.
Ha ha

Booth: Oh I didn’t leave her behind, it was her decision to stay.
Brennan: Well maybe you didn’t really love her.
Booth: No I do love her, I do. So is this the cave entrance?

LOVED how Brennan compared the couple in the cave to Booth and Hannah.
Then as they were leaving she told him to be careful and watch his head. Awww.

Brennan: Seems like we were never away from each other, doesn’t it?
Booth: Yeah. You okay with that?
Brennan: Of course, why?
Booth: Why? Because 7 months ago you said you didn’t want to be surround by you know crime and death and sadness.
Brennan: I needed some time to rationally access the best use of my considerable skills. Factoring in that we have such a strong and mutually beneficial relationship I concluded that I could be most useful solving crimes.
Booth: So you’re happy to be working together?
Brennan: That’s what I just said.
Booth: Great, me too.

Brennan offers what she can do because Booth misses Hannah. Then Hannah shows up at the diner. Booth and Hannah are kissing. Brennan walks up.
Brennan: Hello? I’m Temperance Brennan.
Hannah: Ahh I’ve heard a lot about you. Hannah Burly.
Brennan: I assumed.
Booth’s look on his face! LMAO

Loved the squints discussing Hannah, and Brennan’s comments on her appearance in the golden ratio. And Cam stated that she assumed when they got back from their trip she assumed they’d be a real couple and Brennan stating they were never a couple and Angela arguing they were a couple but they weren’t having sex. And Angela asked if she was jealous.
Clark: Because it’s obvious you and Agent Booth were attracted to each other. I mean a blind man could see that. I just couldn’t understand why you two just didn’t rip each other’s clothes off. I mean just get all buck naked and –
The LOOKS on the squints faces.

LOVED Sweets coming to Booth and Booth turning the tables and telling Sweets to get his own house in order with Daisy before coming to give him advice on Hannah. LOVED it.

Angela and Brennan discussing Hannah and Booth. But Brennan looks like she’s trying to be happy for Booth, and is in her own way, jealous.
Brennan: So I’m the only ne living the life I expected.
Angela: So how is that honey
Brennan: It is – it’s how I expected.
So …. Sad.

Sweets telling Booth that it’s okay to have mixed feelings.

Hannah: Seeley tells me you’re the best partner he’s ever had.
Brennan: Well I’m sure that’s true. I’m not only gifted intellectual, and internationally know, but I’m also highly skilled in various methods of self defense.
Hannah: I like a person who isn’t hampered by modesty.
Then she went on to discuss her awards and wounds during her stories.

Brennan was … depressed by Booth’s story on how he saved Hannah’s life. And Booth was actually a bit uncomfortable about Brennan’s reaction. They shared some serious looks. Poor Booth and Brennan.

Booth: So it’s not possible for two people to overcome their differences?
Brennan: We couldn’t
Booth: What?
Sweets: She’s right.
Booth: This is not about us.
Brennan: Sometimes when I was away, I would imagine us together.
The LOOKS on Booth and Sweets faces!
Sweets: Really?
Brennan: While pleasant it was clearly a fantasy because we are also anomalous. But you were lucky enough to meet someone with whom you have parody.
Booth: Love. With whom I have love.
Sweets: You guys want to talk about this?
Booth: No
Brennan shakes her head no.
Sweets: No? Because I figure since Hannah is now a part of your life –
Booth interrupts and tells him to focus on the case.

That’s life, right. Things change.
So sad … the looks between Booth and Brennan.

Hannah asking about Brennan … she’s a little jealous. And Booth assumes she thinks there’s something going on. Ha ha … and Hannah is jealous of the time that Booth and Brennan get to spend in the field.
Cam: Someone's altered your relationship with Booth, Dr Brennan.
Brennan: Do you mean Hannah?
Cam: Yes. Whether or not you’re happy for him, you have to have feelings about it. And if you can’t keep that out of the work place –

Brennan <laughing> It’s quite amusing to think that Hannah could ever affect my work.
LOL at the squints and their 'live' experiment on the girlfriend. And she's afraid they’re witches.

How sad that in the end it was the Park Ranger Gary who wanted to be an FBI agent … who killed the couple. So sad. He felt it was war and that the girl was collateral damage. He really felt he did the right thing.

The music “every day is a struggle between what I want to say and what I should to keep myself, and the words that manage to leave my lips don’t hurt me but they hurt everyone else … and something about because of the desire to be what others want me to be. Sad music.

Booth: It’s sad you know, but at least they died in each other’s arms.
Brennan: How could that have made their deaths any less horrible?
Booth: Because it was love. I mean – I mean if you’re going to go it’s best to go with someone you love.
Brennan: No. But he didn’t have to go. He could have walked farther and gotten help. At least one of them would have lived.
Booth: Well he couldn’t leave her. That’s what love is.
Brennan: So you’re saying that love is foolish and that illogical.
Booth: No, it’s thinking of someone before yourself. It’s giving your life if necessary to that person. And it’s uh, it’s love.
Brennan: And if a person falls out of love and meets someone else, those selfless acts would suddenly appear to be dangerously irresponsible, wouldn’t they?
Booth: No, it was still love.
Brennan: Well I could never live like that. Survival is the human imperative. If we don’t look out for ourselves nothing else matters.
Booth: That’s not true. You know that Bones. That’s not true. You know that.
Brennan: You’re experiencing a rush of dopamine norephenefrin and serotonin with Hannah. Those feelings are wonderful, I’ve felt them but I won’t rely on the transient nature of chemicals for my happiness.
Booth: There she is. <Hannah shows up>

I felt this eppy was very ... symbolic, a lot like the last one.

Booth protested a bit too much about his 'love' for Hannah
Brennan in several ways admitted she was jealous of Hannah without SAYING it
Brennan also admitted her love for Booth in underyling ways as well
And Hannah? She was definitely shoved down our throats in a "everybody loves her" way ... except Brennan ... and I felt that was appropriate. Brennan is the only one left alone with what she wants to say but doesn't ... and is left alone.

Was Booth trying a little too hard, or was that just my own optimism?

I thought it was kind of cute the way he seemed to look back and forth between them, like he was anxious about their reactions to each other. Like he wants Hannah and Brennan to like each other.

I don't know how I felt about Brennan's whole speech about self preservation at the end. I guess she's trying a little too hard to be ok with it....talk herself into believing that Booth needs someone like Hannah and she should be alone. But Booth is right - she DOES know about putting someone else before herself, caring about someone else's well being above her own. COME ON BRENNAN. Wake up!

BRENNAN ADMITTED THAT SHE THOUGHT ABOUT HER AND BOOTH TOGETHER WHILE IN MALUKU! The shock that i felt after first hearing her say that... and THE LOOK that Booth gave her I can't get over that scene.
