An intense look at the Brennan history. Max is definitely someone you don't want to mess with, and especially if you're messing with his kids. Booth had some respect for him, but he has to uphold his oath to his job.

It was sad ending with Brennan having to deal with Max and Russ driving off, just as she got a chance to know Russ, and see her father for the first time.

So, we got a look at what forced Max and Christine to leave the kids.

This episode was so well done. We got a look at the Brennan family past. It was interesting to see Booth respecting Max for protecting his family but needing to uphold the law.

Yeah numerous times it would put Booth in the quandry of what to do. And Brennan was equally conflicted because this was a man who abandoned her for fifteen years, and now was back...

And then to see him run off with Russ again, just after getting him back too... Poor Brennan.

I felt so much for Brennan having to see her family drive off again. The look on Russ and Max’s face seemed kind of pained too.

They knew she had Booth. But still, yeah, that is a poor substitute when it's your family abandoning you again. Especially because had lived so many years without one. You really felt for her.

They knew Booth would take care of her, and love her. It still had to be so rough to see them abandon her yet again. I was surprised she ever would have trusted them again.

A very intense and strong episode. We finally meet Max. Interesting little con job he was doing there...

And then at the end, you had to feel for Brennan. To be left behind once more.

No wonder she would always have issues with her father. Interesting look at the past, and felt for Brennan realized the case was colliding with her parents past.

And Max can be a very sinister man if pushed. Or crossed him, with his children.

Another fantastic episode.

I loved the meeting of Max. It was interesting again to see more of the Brennan family past come to light.

You had to feel for her at the end. Her family left her again.

The scene in front of the dinner with Booth and Brennan. Telling her there was more than one kind of family.

It really was an intense episode. Max was a fascinating character. Had some different sides to him, but one of them was his love for his daughter. Even though he stayed away, eventually he could not stay away. But still you had to feel for her at the end...

Glad Brennan had Booth to help her.

This episode was intense from start to finish.

I felt for her so much, Russ and Max both leaving her again.
