It is a very interesting episode. We saw how Max was determined to see his daughter again, and made it happened although it was a bittersweet ending because once again he had to leave her... And we also got to know more about Max and Christine's life, and how it all came back to haunt the family years later, and yet Brennan helped to bring the truth out...

It was the start of a interesting and complex relationship. They ended up finding the perfect person to play Max in all his complexities. And it forced Brennan to confront a lot of issues.
