It was shattering for the person she became, all because of her parent's abandonment in the first place. While we were always told she was always slightly different... still it made a impact, and then to lose Russ. So for her to get a brutal wakeup call about who her parents were, and discovery of her mother and yet her father was still unknown out there... It was a hell of a experience...
Thank god by then she had developed a true friendship with Booth that he was there for her... and the gang at the Jeffersonian who would do anything to help her... And little by little she let people through her wall, and start the process of reuniting with Russ... I loved this episode! __________________

It was very tough for Brennan in this episode because she found out her mother was alive for 2 years after they left. It was definitely a struggle finding out her parents weren't the people she thought they were.
