BOOTH AND BRENNAN INVESTIGATE THE MURDER OF A MUSICAL PRODIGY ON “BONES” THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, ON FOX

When human remains are found alongside the railroad, Brennan and Booth are called to the case. The bones belong to Levi Yoder, a member of the Amish community who disappeared roughly two months prior to his Rumspringa, or exploration of the outside world. Brennan and Booth discover that Levi was a piano prodigy, and their investigation leads them to believe that his extraordinary talent may have lead him to an untimely death. Meanwhile, Cam copes with the stress that comes from being a new parent, and Booth helps keep Cam’s stepdaughter Michelle (guest star Tiffany Hines) in line in “The Plain in the Prodigy” episode of BONES airing Thursday, Oct. 1 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Yay, it's aired!

I'm pretty sure The Plain In The Pianist is my favourite episode so far, throughout any season. Oh my gosh... this episode totally made me cry.

My thoughts:

1. I'm a big fan of pianists and piano music. Huge. I think piano music is beautiful--it's my favourite instrument. The fact that Levi was such a gifted pianist really touched me and made me empathize with his character even though we never really saw him other than through videos. The fact that he broke his own hand so he could remove temptation to play and go back to his faith really blew me away. It takes a strong person to do that. And the fact that he was killed for practically no reason at all was just heartbreaking. I think this is the victim I've most empathized with throughout the entire series.

2. Love the Cam and Michelle parts. I am so glad they brought that back! It was a huge step and development for Cam last season and I was almost afraid we wouldn't be seeing that relationship again, but as always Bones writers definitely did not let me down. I thought it was realistic and well-done (and Booth's threatening of Perry was absolutely HILARIOUS, LOL).

3. The end, with Booth and Bones giving the DVD of their son playing to the Amish family... when they said they couldn't accept it and Brennan said, "I think God would make an exception in this case." She didn't say "your God," or something like that. I think that's a big step for her too--not that she's suddenly becoming religious or anything (lol yeah, in a million years maybe), but that she's really learned to respect others' views despite her own and not to call it illogical or unscientific.

Yeah...
