I really like the idea of Ryan in a father-type role. I could see him in a movie sort of like "About a Boy" - in a role like Hugh Grant's in that particular film. The scenes in The United States of Leland where Leland takes Ryan home from school without Becky - how he hugs Ryan when he can't get his bike through the bush/tree on the sidewalk, and how he looked Ryan in the eyes after he got him home, like he really understood him - you can see that Ryan (Gosling) would be great in a fatherly role.

Wow - that was a really long sentence. Hopefully you can understand it.

LOL yes we can decipher that code..lol

But I know what you mean Ryan, in his roles and with certain characters can have an Agressiveness...I guess that's the word...but at the same time, there's always some "tenderness" there....

I totally agree with you there.

Yeah seeing Ryan in a father-type role could be cool.

It would be a different role for him, and something we haven't seen yet

I like to see Actors/actresses challenge themselves. That's why I'm not bit fans of comedic actors like Chris Rock, because I get so tired of seeing them doing the same thing over and over...you know............

Or maybe to be more general, a role where he has to be the caretaker....you know...whether it's for a child of his own, or a younger sibling....taking on that "fatherly" type of character would be kewl!

I'd also love to see Ryan take on a role like Leonardo DiCaprio did with his character in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". That is my favorite Leo role, and i'm not a big fan of Leo's but his portrayal of Arnie Grape was astounding!

I haven't seen many punked out was, but it seemed that Hayden looked pretty good in "Life As A House". I don't know if he could do one like that

Life as a House that was such a great movie!

But that would be a good challenge type role for Ryan to take on!

But that would be kewl. Utilize his music ability and put him in a role where he's a rocker-goth-punk type character that would be interesting to see from him. A new challenge!

That's one of the reasons why I love Ryan as an actor, other than the fact that he's Canadian like me..lol but he chooses challenging roles you know!

I have a role I would not want Ryan to play.

One of those music movies like Crossroads or Glitter. They never do good and it would hurt his career.

Oh god never...but it wouldn't be so much about the music as it would be the character and his relationships with people...etc...I just think it would be kewl to get Ryan on film singing one of his songs, like Put Me In The Car..
