I just saw the movie today - I agree that it's really hard to follow if you're not fully paying attention (which was my main problem - I had a lot of people coming in and out during the movie) But the movie is shot beautifully and Ryan does a really good job in it.

You know what, you're totally right, the ending confused the hell out of me(I spent half the movie thinking that Sam had made Herny up or Sam was Henry heh) but now it makes more sense.

I've watched it a couple times now and I'm still picking stuff out and clearing stuff up in my head about it. They really made it deep -- possibly too much so.

Not so good review from Japan.

I know the feeling. I hate getting stuff out of storage. But you definitely need a Gosling fix.

i don't know... i liked this movie because it was different... but it never occurred to me that maybe Henry was seeing his life after the one in the car... so the whole movie is a totally other reality of what was before.... So, basically, the whole movie is about what would happen if Henry died and about his second life. His gf does not recognize him, and he is going through hell because he thinks he has killed his girlfriend and his father and mother, and that is why he wants to kill himself. He also keeps seeing pictures from his other life while trying to move on, and therefore cannot move on, because he is bugged by it. In the scene where he asks Ewan about his ring (He asked him:"Where did you get it?") and Ewan told him that he bought it, Henry remembers that he was going to ask his girlfriend to marry him and that he had the same ring. That is why the old guy says in the end that life is an allusion. He is imagining those things, living another life, if you know what I mean.... I don't know... But I think that's basically the point of the movie....

The script was wonderful. I just loved the whole concept of the dream before the last awakening. Going back to the harsh reality and everything starts to be messier and messier with the length of the dream. Because after all, before waking up the dreams never make real linear sense. Life is just a mix between the reality and the dream.

Beautiful! That's just the word, and the colours, oh my..

A real work of genious with the greatest actors. Ryan is wonderful.
