Ryan's up for the lead role in A Million Little Pieces. It's apparently down to him, Hayden Christensen, and Josh Hartnett... I really loved the book, so I'm hoping he gets it.

Ryan Gosling and Anthony Mackie will star in Half Nelson a feature-length adaptation of the Sundance-winning short film Gowanus, Brooklyn by Ryan Fleck. The movie follows a unique relationship between a white schoolteacher, his African-American student and a local drug dealer.

Fleck, who co-penned the screenplay with Anna Boden, will direct with shooting scheduled for this month in New York.

Mackie most recently wrapped Freedomland for director Joe Roth. Gosling can next be seen in Marc Forster's Stay and The Last Face.

Sounds interesting.

I'm assuming Ryan's going to be the school teacher... although he could be the drug dealer too.

The student role is out for obvious reasons.

That's what's great about Ryan as an actor he's somewhat unpredictable with his roles, if you look at his performance in The Believer and then The Notebook, you wouldn't know it's the same person playing the roles...

I heard he did get arrested for a DUI. It was on the United States of Gosling that I read it. You can check there

Well like I said, everyone makes mistakes, and I bet he regrets it. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I know Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys had the same thing happen and he just recently got his "sentence". I think it was 6 months of rehab or something and community service...not entirely certain though.
