Reading most of the reviews, even the ones that truly love it in a very OTT way, there doesn't sound like there's much to realistically push for the Oscars anyway -- maybe supporting actor for Ryan or even DeHaan, but that's it.

I just can't see it. He's getting solid reviews, but solid reviews generally aren't enough for a Lead Actor push -- it's way, way too competitive, especially for under 40 actors, to break into.

Whenever it's released, I could possibly see a couple Spirit and/or Golden Globe noms, but no one from this is likely getting any legit SAG, Oscar, BAFTA, CC, etc buzz, IMO -- and, honestly, that's okay.

To be honest, it's probably not a serious awards contender, so that might be the best time for it -- it'll have most of the niche audience to itself then.

That's a good point B. I don't see it as a serious award contender either. It might be better for it to come out earlier.
