Best least Drive is a nominee now, Best Sound Editing!

Cooler as a whole if Drive is not nominated I guess

It sucks that Drive got nothing, but I'm not surprised. Shame for Brooks, especially, though.

I expected it, but I'm still rolling my eyes over The Help getting a best picture nom.

I expected it, too. Doesn't make it right. The film was amazing it just needed some buzz and better campaigning to really take off for awards season.

I can't blame the studio too much for not putting that much effort for the campaign. They did do so but they started real late in the game. It would be a gamble to begin with since it's too arthouse, too edgy, too European...etc.

At least it got sound editing, BAFTA noms and won some minor awards

I feel like 'Drive' has the makings of being a possible cult-classic. Who knows?

I think so too Smooth. Just the fact that it has gathered so many fan following online, making it a potential cult hit. They really took a generic genre pic and made something special out of it.

And I think Ryan would be happy to hear this from Gary, who is finally nominated for an Oscar!

I've seen a great many of them. Some are nominated, and some are not. I'm a George Clooney fan. And I love Brad Pitt. I love Ryan Gosling.
Very sweet of him!

That was sweet of him.

Agreed that I wasn't really surprised either. But still sucks though.

Gary and Ryan are friends, so it's not surprising he mentioned him.

That is really cool! I remembered Ryan saying Gary's his favorite actor when he's a lot younger. Very cool that they became friends!

And Nic said from a recent interview:
Quote:
A sequel to the novel Drive was adapted from is coming out this spring. Any plans for a film follow-up?

Well I think that... hmm. Let me just say that I haven’t made up my mind yet. Stranger things have happened...
And Russel Crowe just tweeted about Ryan's and Albert's snub (sorry to bring this up again. I should stop mentioning this soon!). Very cool that he likes the movie. Russell Crowe is like the manliest actor out there! Great one too I loved him in almost everything he's in!

Someone posted some of the extras from the Drive DVD on Youtube. I don't know if it would be ok to post them here. What does everyone think? If nobody has a problem with me posting them, I gladly will.

Depends on what is in them.

If there's no nudity, just warn of any language and you can post them.

Ugh, I can't stand Russell Crowe.

I will definitely pick up the sequel to 'Drive' but I also have to read the original text. I've just only seen the film. I think it's around $5 on my Kindle and it's short.

Well, they do leave the cursing in when they show scenes from the movie. But otherwise it just shows them filming scenes and the actors talk about the movie and their characters etc. Unfortunately, Ryan doesn't talk in any of the interviews.

I believe there are 5 extras, but only 3 of them were posted on YouTube.
