Any movies you wish Rachel had accepted? Any movies you were glad she ended up not being in? :)

Two movies that Rachel was one point rumored to be attached/in talks for are getting released this months and the first reviews are getting released. Collateral Beauty currently has a 19% rating at RT (43 reviews) and a 24 score at Metacritics. Passengers has a 18% rating at RT (11 reviews) and 39 score at Metacritics. I know reviews aren't everything, but I always like to keep an eye on movies Rachel was once attached to so wanted to share this.

But you know, lol, all this anticipation just means that when it does and she isn't cast, I'll be utterly devastated... Sigh.

I honestly feel that if she were to act with Matthias Schoenaerts, their chemistry together would be as good as Rachel/Jake. Rachel and Matthias does that "eye acting" thing that always feels really genuine, so I'm just dying to see them on-screen together.

I was thinking about the same thing just yesterday, Lindsey :) I clearly remember how disappointed and a bit devastated when Rachel passed on this and Kate Winslet joined Collateral Beauty instead of her. Well it turns out that it was for the best! :) You wouldn't expect such a star studded cast to make a movie which has already got so much criticism. I'm sure Rachel would have enjoyed the experience of working with them but I'm glad she passed :)
As for Passengers, I'm again really glad it didn't happen for her. I think the script has changed a lot during this process and the version Rachel has read must have been quite different than the one that has got to be made. But still... I'm glad she isn't the one whose movie is getting those kinds of reviews :)

Hope to see Disobedience with reviews as good as Spotlight and Doctor Strange! :)

Same here. Here is to hoping to hear some good news about it as soon as possible... SIGH.

I didn't think about it this way, but this is such a good point. #McSchoenaerts? ;)

Agreed on both points. I remember that earlier this year that THR predicted Kate getting a Best Supporting Nod for Collateral Beauty and I was waiting for the buzz, which never came.

Judging on the trailer I have seen it does seem like they changed the script of Passengers, which is a shame I think. But I guess that's the point what Rachel is often trying to make, a lot happens between pre-production, a script and the final experience. I can't help but think it would have been more a character movie if it happened with Rachel and Reeves, and I think right now it looks more action-ish (but I guess they are trying to sell it to Jennifer and Chris' Hunger Games/Guardians of the Galaxy audience)

I can't find that forum thread where you can list actors you'd like to see Rachel work with, so I'm posting this here...

I was cleaning out some of my picture folders today when I noticed this GIF:

Looks like we already have a follow-up project for "Disobedience", variety is reporting that Rachel joined Jason Bateman in "Game Night":
Quote:

Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams will star in the New Line Comedy “Game Night.”

“Vacation’s” directing duo of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will helm the movie with Bateman producing alongside James Garavente for Aggregate Films. John Davis and John Fox will produce for Davis Entertainment. Goldstein and Daley also wrote the latest draft of the screenplay.

“Game Night,” which has been in development at New Line since 2013 when Mark Perez wrote the original script, follows several couples who gather for their regularly-planned game night when something goes terribly wrong.

Although Bateman has only recently formally signed on to star, Aggregate has been producing this project since the pitch stage and brought on Goldstein & Daley. They were also instrumental in getting Rachel McAdams on board.

The film marks McAdams’ first true comedy since the 2005 smash hit “Wedding Crashers.” McAdams made her comic book debut in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” late last year following her Oscar-nominated turn in Open Road’s “Spotlight.” Her period drama “Disobedience,” in which she stars opposite Rachel Weisz, is currently in development.

Besides “Vacation”, Goldstein and Daley also recently wrote the script to Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, which opens this July.

McAdams is represented by Magnolia Entertainment, WME, and attorney Tom Hoberman. Bateman is repped by CAA, Lighthouse Management, and Hoberman.

Daley also seems to confirm the news on his twitter:

Additional reports from EW and THR:
Quote:

EW has confirmed the duo will headline the New Line comedy, which finds a group of couples getting together for their usual game night, only for things to take a murderous twist.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo behind New Line’s Vacation reboot, are directing Game Night, while also having penned the latest draft of the script. This is just the latest high-profile project for the filmmakers, who wrote the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Decided to make a thread for Game Night, it might be a bit premature but I think the signs are there that it's happening: http://www.fanforum.com/f215/rachels...gain-63183611/

I'm trying to figure out Rachel's filming schedule for the coming months:
  • It seems she will film "Disobedience" in London for the coming weeks. Rachel Weisz' next project will start filming in March, so presumably "Disobedience" will be done before that.
  • Last we heard is that "Kursk" will film in March. If that's still happening, I think it's only a few weeks shoot for Rachel because I think it's likely she has a supporting role in that
  • "Game Night" will shoot in April, according to a FB post from someone close to the production.

Not sure "Kursk" can fit into her filming Disobedience and Game Night, but if she's done mid-February with "Disobedience" it would leave her enough time to prep for it and finish it in time before "Game Night".
