In addition to Rachel's appearance on the 'Today' show tomorrow, Robin Wright will be on the show the following day (Wed, 23rd) to discuss the film (and House of Cards), as well as being a guest later that night on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'.

I'm still a little disappointed that Rachel isn't popping into any of the late-night chat shows for promotion of this (particularly given the absence of PSH who is clearly the main character here), however the movie is only opening with a limited release, and we still don't know much much more filming of Southpaw she last left, which may have limited her availability.

And although there are only 20 reviews posted thus far, A Most Wanted Man is currently sitting at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is Rachel's 2nd highest rated film (behind Midnight in Paris).

Thanks for all the info Nick! :) I'm happy to see Robin Wright will promote this movie but I'm with you I was hoping Rachel would as well. I do hope there will be a red carpet premiere because director Anton Corbijn is also in NYC right now :)

I still have a little bit of hope left that Rachel will appear on a late night talk show. There are still some spots left judging on the current line-up.

I'm really excited for the Rotten Tomatoes rating! :) Let's hope they will keep up this high rating

The actors speak English, though in reality all but the American agent are talking in German, and Hoffman in particular affects a Teutonic accent throughout while McAdams, physically a knockout, speaks the tongue with a British emphasis.

Interesting... "British emphasis."

amanda s. 07-21-2014 08:24 PM

Thanks for all the info and stuff, guys! I wonder if the "British emphasis" was intentional. I'm trying to remember in the book where that would come from and I can't quite place it-- Annabel in the book also speaks Russian and went to school there (in Russia) when she was young, but I don't think she has any British roots. Not that I remember, anyhow. Anyone else remember it? Still, it might have just been easier for her since she doesn't have a whole lot of experience with accents at this point in her career? Interesting, though!

Definitely hoping for her to do more than just Today. I'm sure there's going to be a junket in NYC this week at some point... right?! And because it is such limited release, it really wouldn't surprise me if they keep promoting it through next week for sure. Especially since Willem was on Kelly & Michael LAST week, you know? I guess we'll see! Either way, also reeeeally want a red carpet screening this week in NYC!

Looks like the UK film tie-in is out now, according to this tweet:

Thanks everyone for all the news! :) Can't believe it's only 3 more days until the US release.

I really love the new book art, I might buy another copy of the book just because Rachel is also featured ;)

Interesting about the mention of the British emphasis in the review. I'm not sure what it's being said in the book but I always assumed Annabel would speak native German.

The Today show just started, sadly I can't watch Rachel's interview live due to my location but I'm really looking forward to seeing it later on :)

I love the red carpet coverage so far. It's really nice to see the interaction between Rachel, Anton Corbijn and Robin Wright! :)

Interesting article from THR on the premiere with quotes from Corbijn:

Quote:

"The quality of the performance keeps surprising you — you know he's good, but you never realize he's that good," director Anton Corbijn told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet, set just in front of Sol LeWitt's colorful wall drawings, at the premiere presented by The Cinema Society and Montblanc. "You see it happen in front of your eyes."

"We're very proud to be involved with this film for many reasons — it's great to be releasing a film that's this smart and interesting and provocative in this day and age," said Roadside Attractions co-president Howard Cohen, also on behalf of Lionsgate, while introducing the film. "About the great Philip Seymour Hoffman, I just want to say what [Rolling Stone's] Peter Travers said earlier. ... 'Philip Seymour Hoffman is magnificent.'"

After the screening, guests headed south to Midtown's recently opened rooftop bar, The Skylark, for Grey Goose cocktails, a special Montblanc ink bar and sweeping views of Manhattan.

Also this made me really happy:

Before the screening, the espionage thriller's stars — Robin Wright, dressed in a beige tank and black pinstriped slacks, and Rachel McAdams, wearing a mixed-pattern Zuhair Murad dress — greeted each other with a long hug in front of photographers.
