Official Plot
A Most Wanted Man takes place in present day Hamburg, Germany where a mysterious, tortured and near-dead half-Chechen, half-Russian man on the run arrives in the city’s Islamic community desperate for help and looking to recover his late Russian father’s ill-gotten fortune. Nothing about this young man seems to add up; is he a victim or a thief or, worse still, an extremist intent on destruction? Drawn into this web of intrigue is a private British banker and a young female lawyer determined to defend the defenseless. All the while, they are being watched by the brilliant, roguish chief of a covert German spy unit (Hoffman), who fights to put the pieces together as the clock ticks.

Production Notes

The movie is directed by Anton Corbijn and the screenplay is written by Andrew Bovell and it's adapted from John le Carré's novel. The production is expected to start in September in Hamburg.

Another article that confirms Rachel's involvement was posted on le Carré's official website so I decided to make a thread

Rachel McAdams’ acting work is just as varied. After her role as the manipulative Regina George in ‘Mean Girls’ for which she is justly lauded, McAdams has more recently had roles such as quick-thinking Lisa Reisert in ‘Red Eye’ and the cunning Irene Adler in the Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films. We are sure she will bring both heart and intelligence to the role of lawyer Annabel Richter.

Good news, the movie found a co-financer at TIFF, and the article also confirms Dafoe and Wright's casting
