I can see her doing a Mean Girls / Midnight in Paris sort of character. Not too "out there" evil, but nasty enough that people think she's the culprit.

I'm all for her doing a grown-up Regina George-like character. I wasn't expecting at all her doing a comedy next, because she always says doing comedy is hard. Her being in talks for this one makes me hopeful, I hope this means she likes the script

I really like this paragraph on Game Night by Slashfilm:
Quote:
McAdams is known more for her dramatic roles, but one of her most famous roles is Regina George from Mean Girls. She’s hilarious and delivers no shortage of quotable lines in that high school movie. McAdams is also very funny in Morning Glory, an overlooked and charming romantic comedy. For whatever reason, we haven’t seen the actress in many studio comedies, with of course the exception of David Dobkin‘s Wedding Crashers. The Academy Award-nominated actress didn’t get to be a part of too many jokes in that movie, though, as she had a more grounded role. Considering we rarely see McAdams go big in a comedy, it’ll be refreshing to see her in a more overtly comedic role again. No other actors are attached to star alongside Bateman and McAdams in Game Night at the moment, but we’ll likely hear more casting announcements soon.

Especially the Morning Glory shout-out. Absolutely love her in Morning Glory, Becky Fuller is one of my favorite characters she has portrayed.

Variety is reporting that Jesse Plemons is in talks to join the cast:
Quote:
“Fargo” star Jesse Plemons is in negotiations to join Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams in the New Line comedy “Game Night.”

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley — the directing duo behind the 2015 comedy “Vacation” — will helm the movie with Bateman producing alongside James Garavente for Aggregate Films. John Davis and John Fox will produce for Davis Entertainment. Goldstein and Daley also wrote the latest draft of the screenplay.

“Game Night” follows several couples who gather for their regularly-planned game night when something goes terribly wrong. Max Perez wrote the original draft.

Production is expected to start sometime in the first quarter.

Following his Emmy-nominated role in “Fargo,” Plemons has now set his sights on building up his film career starting with his critically acclaimed role in the Sundance darling “Other People.”

Plemons has “The Discovery” premiering at this year’s Sundance where he stars opposite Rooney Mara and continues his busy 2017 with the Doug Liman-Tom Cruise pic “American Made.” He also recently wrapped a role in Scott Cooper’s western “Hostiles” which also stars Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike.

He is also widely known for his roles in TV favorites such as “Friday Night Lights” and “Breaking Bad.”

This casting makes me even more curious how this will work out. It seems they are casting "out-of-the-box" and are casting people who are more known for their dramatic work. I'm impatiently waiting for them to announced the actresses tho

EDIT: Daley seems to confirm the news on his twitter:

My heart just skipped a beat because you mentioned Rosamund (love her), but I think you are referring to this sentence "He also recently wrapped a role in Scott Cooper’s western “Hostiles” which also stars Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike"?

They mentioned Rosamund because she worked with Jesse on another movie, wouldn't mind if they cast Rosamund tho She's even with the same manager as Rachel.

A little bit of news, I noticed that IMDB added Jen Farris as location scout. According to her official website she has "18-year logistics expertise with large-scale projects in the Southeast Region": Zenfolio | GA based Film/TV Location Scout and Creative Arts Enthusiast.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to film in the Atlanta area, since I think these days a lot of movies have filmed there and it seems Farris works in that area.
