About Time Discussion Thread

Production Notes

THR reported exclusively in May that Rachel was in talks to star opposite Domhnall Gleeson in "About Time". Emma Freud (script editor) later confirmed Rachel was cast. Rachel and Domhnall started doing pre-production late May there were spotted at the CB Make-Up Academy in London but they met each other about a week later.

Rachel and Domhnall Gleeson are cast as the leads. Bill Nighy, Tom Hollander, Margot Robbie, Lydia Wilson and Vanessa Kirby are set to co-star. The film is written and will be directed by Richard Curtis. Filming will start (mid) June and will wrap up in August in London. The movie is expected to release in 2013

Official Plot

The story is described as a fantastical feel-good movie about a man (Domhnall Gleeson) and his ability to travel back in time. He eventually meets the girl of his dreams (Rachel McAdams)

Film Triva

• Rachel replaced Zooey Deschanel, who was attached to this project before but had to drop out due to other commitments.

I REALLY hope she's a brunette in that movie and that she'll dye her hair (and not just get a wig like in The Vow)

I was checking Gleeson's filmography, I had no idea he was in True Grit and Never Let Me Go. Good films.

I was surprised as well Lydia. For me it's an interesting casting choice, he doesn't seem like the typical leading man for a romantic comedy. And with Curtis writing and directing it won't be.

I tried to find more information on when they will start shooting the film and where, but no luck so far.

Looks like they did some kind of production work in a hotel in London:

I am not sure how long she is attached to it, but if she was cast after Rachel signed on she could be playing Rachel's sister?
