ET did a nice style evolution on Rachel's style:

And yes, her hair does look very blonde. Like you posted in the other tweet, it's almost platinum but not as blonde as Married Life. There are some darker high lights in there

Kayleen breaking down the key points of Rachel's makeup from last night's Oscars
Rachel McAdams Chanel Makeup at the 2016 Oscars | POPSUGAR Beauty

This is what she said about her choice of dress:
Quote:
Kayleen teamed up with Chanel to give Rachel a smoldering style, highlighted by an emerald eye. "I wanted Rachel's look to be a little sexy, a little sultry," Kayleen said of the inspiration. "I think Rachel was going against the grain, choosing the slinky dress that she did. We wanted to keep those clean lines, and to give her eyes the same pop that her dress had."
She literally said the same thing they wrote in that New York Times article on Rachel's award season fashion choices and I loved that Beucase I think that's what she did, too. She didn't go with Elie Saab as many had predicted or something similar to her previous choices but used this opportunity to wear a new and daring style from an up and coming designer which is something almost none of the other actresses would do at the Oscars especially when they are nominated for one. Congrats to her and Rob and Mariel for that brave and supportive choice! They killed it!

Here's a new Vogue article on Rachel's dress' designer August Getty (his Instagram video where they all go crazy when they see Rachel with the dress on the red carpet is priceless )
Meet August Getty, the 22 year-old who made Rachel McAdams' Oscars gown - Vogue Australia

Quote:
Zagardi and Haeen, known for their glamorous, erring on the side of outré, approach to red carpet dressing, support both established and up-and-coming designers. Speaking to Vogue prior to the Academy Awards they emphasized the importance of variety on the awards circuit. “Newer designers have the opportunity to be seen. It’s not as much about whether you have a long-standing name brand anymore,” said the pair. “It’s more about the quality and talent behind the design, no matter the label.”

The back of the dress and train are amazing:

More about the dress on People:
Rachel McAdams’ Oscar Dress Is So New It Hasn’t Even Come Down the Runway Yet – Style News - StyleWatch - People.com

Quote:
The actress’s jade backless silk slip dress is from up-and-coming, L.A.-based designer August Getty’s forthcoming collection which will show in Paris on March 5. People spoke with McAdam’s stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn about her choice for the big night, enthusing, “the second she put it on she was like, whoa, this is so amazing, this is the dress.” But originally, the Best Supporting Actress nominee and her team thought this look would be her Vanity Fair after party dress so they trimmed off that statement-making 5-foot train. However, when the actress texted the stylists that she couldn’t stop thinking about the gown, they immediately called Getty who quickly whipped them up a whole new train to replace the one they’s shorn off the night before the ceremony.
So it wasn't originally their first choice for the red carpet. Rachel must have really liked it What did you guys think? My only reservation was that they could have had a steamer with them on their way to the red carpet so that they could have got rid of the wrinkles around her stomach area but whatever

Kayleen did a collage of Rachel's award season looks to thank Team McAdams Which one was your favorite? I think mine was the Golden Globes look and Critics' Choice Awards I loved her make up at the Globes

I love the special treatment she got with that gown!! I agree a little about the wrinkles on the dress, but actually I didn't even notice them until blogs pointed it out, I was just so stunned by the rest of it. That slit was EVERYTHING.

I like this cool part pointing out that the dress hasn't even been seen on the runway yet:

Quote:
It’s customary at the Oscars to see stars show up in designs that you only just saw come down the runway during fashion month, sometimes even a mere day before the ceremony itself. But Rachel McAdams has taken the evening gown one-upmanship to the next level, showing up to the red carpet in a dress that was not only made just last week, but hasn’t even been shown on the designer’s runway yet!

The Hollywood Reporter's annual Stylist issue is coming out this week. Do you think Rachel will be featured with Rob and Mariel? I'm not sure of it because Rob and Mariel were already featured in it in the last couple of years with Jennifer Lopez. But I hope they will! I'd like to read Rachel's words about them and visa versa so much! Her award season style has been a hot topic to talk about this year, they should include her and her stylists in this coverage this year.

So, Rob and Mariel re-made THR's Stylist list at number 8! Congrats No photos with Rachel though which is kind of disappointing Most of the other mentioned stylists posed for photographs with their clients
The 25 Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood 2016 - Pret-a-Reporter

The bits where they mentioned Rachel are here:

Quote:
Why they matter: The duo delivers many of the town's most dramatic entrances (they love a gown train). They also handle a high volume of diverse work, from Spotlight nominee McAdams' jam-packed awards season to Stefani's and Lopez's weekly TV gigs.

Red-carpet risk: The duo viewed the August Getty Atelier emerald dress McAdams, 37, wore on Oscar night as a gamble that paid off despite not being by "a typical Oscar designer. It was a very different look for Rachel," says Zangardi.
Plus, they gave an interview to ELLE magazine for its March issue and talked a little about Rachel, too:

Red Carpet Secrets from Celebrity Stylists Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi

Quote:
HOW DO YOU ENCOURAGE A CLIENT TO WEAR SOMETHING A LITTLE RISKY?

RZ: We joke that we can bully them into it without them knowing. I'm the good cop.

MH: One of the first looks we did with Rachel [McAdams] was a white Pucci dress with a giant plunging neckline. She was like, "I think I have this dress on backward!" It took a little coercing
(they are talking about the white dress with the plunging neckline that Rachel wore to the premiere of The Time Traveler's Wife)

She looked so good in it, didn't she? They nailed it at the first time And I miss her brunette/auburn and longer hair!

By the way, it looks like Rachel totally acted on her own to pick that August Getty dress to wear to the Oscar ceremony, doesn't it? From what I understand of their quotes about him not being an Oscar designer, the dress being a different look for Rachel and her decision to wear it being a gamble that paid off, Rob and Mariel weren't completely on board with it at first. They must have thought it would be more appropriate for the after party like we had read before. Kayleen also said she thought Rachel was going against the grain with her choice of dress. Gotta give it to Rachel for daring to take such a huge risk for the Oscar ceremony, especially when she had a personal nomination! It totally paid off imo
