It's sad for the people who didn't have a nice encounter with her, but they have to understand her point of view as well. Well 99% of the encounters were positive, so I am still convinced she is truly a nice and down-to-earth person as she appears to be.

You're right, another reason to love her. I'm convinced just the way you are that's she's a sweetheart, very humble and down-to-earth! She doesn't have to shout it, it's clear with her actions

You have to put this into perspective (to the person that thinks Rachel is stuck-up)

- What A list super star celebrity would go out of her way to take picture after picture with her fans? At some point, she has to watch Michael's play, that's what she was there for after all. 99.9% of the celebrities would NOT even have been standing with the public much less taking pictures with them. Or they would have a huge entourage or security detail around to make sure NOONE got even close to them. Rachel only had her publicist and was nice enough to take ALOT of pics with her fans. I saw at least 10 pictures on twitter of Rachel with a fan. She went way above and beyond what a normal celebrity would do and she should be applauded and celebrated for that.

- What celebrity chases a fan down after their publicist turns them down for a picture?!!??! That's unheard of. Most celebs are too stuck up too even notice anyone else around them much less go CHASE A FAN DOWN to take a picture after they had been rejected. This is humility and kindness at his true core.

- What celebrity has never had a bad quote written about her (or at least none that I can remember)? Everyone who works with her cites her compassion, kindness and beauty. 99% of the people who are as beautiful as she is - know it and rub it in others faces by acting elite and snobby and like they are better than everyone. Rachel on the other hand doesn't even realize how pretty or talented she is - and this humility shows in her actions.

And beyond all that is the fact that it's her right to say no to an autograph or doing meet and greet with fans - and for as many times as she says yes or does kind of extraordinary things like chasing down a fan to take a picture with them, she's entitled to also decline sometimes too - especially when I think you have to believe there was a good reason behind it.

You are all completely right, I was a bit surprised it was the first time I read a bad encounter with Rachel but at the same time it's not really a bad one. I mean she gave her an autograph.

I think her visit to The Passion really proves us how down to earth and humble she is

Maybe the girl asked her not nicely, you never know. Love the fact she didn't show up to the event with a whole crew, like security and stuff she didn't want to get recognized.

There are some fans who will always have something bad to say.... the overwhelming evidence is that Rachel is compassionate, kind, humble person who also happens to be a HUGE celebrity!

Just realized after reading the topic title again I would actually be so nervous when I would meet Rachel. I am not a girl who screams and cries when I see a 'celebrity' but with Rachel I would actually be starstuck with her.

Hopefully one day we could change the title in Our Dream came true: we went on a twit pic with Rachel

This week, we got a chance to speak with Rachel McAdams, who is currently promoting another project that we’ll be writing about later. But, in the meantime, we wanted to post what she had to say about revisiting her role as Irene Adler for a cameo in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, as well as working with Terrence Malick on an untitled film that is being described as “a powerful and moving love story.”

While McAdams said that she isn’t actually sure of her her role in the Malick film (meaning that she’s either being very coy, or that she only received her own script pages), she did admit to there being a bit of a love triangle involving her character. She also talked about the extensive preparation that Malick requires, and said that working with him was a wonderful and inspiring experience. Check out what she had to say after the jump.

Are you in the Sherlock Holmes sequel?

RACHEL McADAMS: Yes, I am.

Did you go back to England for that?

McADAMS: We do, yes. Can I say that? Am I going to get a phone call now? Yes.

Was it fun to get to play Irene Adler again? Were there things about her that you wanted to explore a little more?

McADAMS: Yeah. I just have a small cameo in this one, but it was nice to revisit. It’s why I’ve always thought I would like to do television. You get really intimate with your character. Often with film, I find that you’re just really getting to know a person. They’re just starting to sink in, and then you wrap the film. So, it was nice to get to bring her back and have time to meditate on her a bit more. I liked that exercise.

Is The Vow your next film?

McADAMS: We finished The Vow after Midnight in Paris, and then I went and did a Terrence Malick film after that.

Is that Terrence Malick film still untitled?

McADAMS: It’s still untitled, yeah.

What kind of role do you have in that film?

McADAMS: I don’t know. I’ll find out when I see the film. But, it’s a romance, as far as I can tell. It’s a bit of a triangle between Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko and myself.

Did you get to work with Javier Bardem on the film?

McADAMS: I didn’t. Our characters never meet up. He plays a priest. And, he was gone by the time I got there, so we didn’t even meet.

What was Terrence Malick like to work with?

McADAMS: He was wonderful and so inspiring. He has a very different way of working and I think it really services a real honesty and beauty in his films. It was a great experience, as an actor. You have to be very honest and very vulnerable, and take a leap and just hope someone will catch you, and he does. You can just let yourself go and let him take you where he’s going to take you, and trust that it will be interesting and compelling. You don’t have to do a lot, in a weird way. It was a great experience.

Since Terrence Malick hasn’t been interviewed or photographed in years, what was your expectation, going into that film? How do you know anything about him, other than just watching his movies? Did you have any preconceived notions?

McADAMS: You never really know anyone until you get in there and work with them. I find that with any film I do. But, he’s a very open, warm person. We spent a fair amount of time together before we got started. I got to know the town we were shooting in, as though I had lived there. There’s great preparation involved with him.

Thanks for posting that - that's an interesting interview

I'm glad to hear she has a cameo in Sherlock Holmes, but it's a little disappointing that it doesn't sound like we'll see her much at all.
