I honestly liked what they had in mind for the character. But I think in the end with Guy's direction and the cutting in the editing room, there wasn't much to salvage.

Favorite quote?
Irene Adler: You'll miss me, Sherlock.
Sherlock Holmes: Sadly... yes.

Favorite scene?
I love the scene where both Irene and Holmes are trying to dismantle Reordan's device.

What did you think of the Holmes/Irene relationship?
I really liked it (only for Downey's Holmes). I think it had potential to be a great couple. Obviously shadowed by the bromance in the movies.

If you've read the Doyle story with Irene, how she does she compare in the film version?
Incredibly different. But I really like Rachel's take on her. She took what was great about the character, and tried to do something fun with it.

Your rating on 10?
8/10

What do you think of Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes compared to some other movies/TV show on the same character?
I like their take, it attracts people to the books. Using crazy action sequences and a fun banter between Holmes and Watson. I wish they wouldn't keep suggesting that their take is so faithful to the original material, though.

Sorry for my late reply on this, but here are my answers:

Favorite quote? Irene: I've never woken up in handcuffs before.
Sherlock: I have ... Naked

Favorite scene? The scene with the device is great! And the scene were Sherlock follows Irene is also my favorite. But I think my favorite scene(s) of the movie don't include Irene/Rachel. I just love the chemistry between Robert and Jude.

What did you think of the Holmes/Irene relationship? I think (especially after watching SH2) the relationship between Holmes/Irene is the only relationship that involves Sherlock and a women that works in the movies... I love their cat and mouse games/love-hate relationship.

I do think they underused their relationship an focusses on the bromance.

If you've read the Doyle story with Irene, how she does she compare in the film version?
It's hard to tell since Irene isn't that much in Doyle's story. It's funny, when I first read it I would have never imagined Rachel portraying Irene but she does a good job.

Your rating on 10?
8/10

What do you think of Ritchie's version of Sherlock Holmes compared to some other movies/TV show on the same character?
Well I like that they 'upgraded' it so a bigger audience will like the movies, but I also think there is a little too much action. I think a main part of the books is the intelligence of Sherlock, and they are not really focussing on that.

Maybe it's an idea to re-watch The Notebook this time? With The Vow coming out? They both seem drama/romance films.

You are right. Sounds like a great idea.
I'm so pathetic though. I don't have the movie. I guess I can catch it on the tv. They are always airing it.

Haha yeah I did, when I was like 14. Have never watched it again since. I know I should. That's why I'm all for this rewatch.

Do you remember most of the film, Lydia?

I have to say, TNB is the 2nd Rachel film I've seen the most time.

For me as well Belle, I probably watched Mean Girls the most. But I am pretty excited to see The Notebook again, it's been a while since I watched it.

Yeah I do like Ryan's work. Saw The Ides of March recently, he was really good.
Haha actually Belle I remember very little of it. But seeing pics, clips and gifs around the internet has made some scenes memorable to me. Like obviously the "kissing in the rain" scene.
