I came across these tweets on twitter and I had to share them over here:

Quote:
Listen. Rachel McAdams is quite possibly my favorite actress to watch because her acting is extremely charming and heartwarming? But she can also be so intense and raw. Ive been obsessed with her since The Notebook and then Morning Glory, About Time, and Spotlight really just sealed the deal for me. She's esp great at convincing viewers of on-screen chemistry--it's amazing and is such a joy to watch. And when she 's neurotic in grittier films/series it gets so intense. That duality. Even if her roles are pretty minor nowadays, I watch for herrrr. Im love her. I found out she was supposed to be Pepper Potts, Daisy Buchanan, and more and Im having these feels coz she's so underrated...

I was trying to have a look at Rachel's agency past. I knew she was signed with Gersh before moving to UTA but I came across some interesting tidbits. When Rachel left Gersh she was agentless for a while, but according to a report from 2005 Rachel UTA, CAA, WME and ICM were all interested in signing her:
Quote:
Working non-stop in “Wedding Crashers” “Red Eye” and soon, Thomas Bezucha‘s “The Family Stone” McAdams hasn’t had an agency since she fired The Gersh Agency’s intrepid Ken Kaplan all those months ago.

And now, agency sources say, the full court press is on: Tenpercenters from United Talent, CAA, William Morris, Endeavor and ICM have all given themselves a quick Binaca Blast, checked their teeth for spinach and are snffing after McAdams like mad.

What would truly amuse me is after this week’s (and likely next’s) woo-a-thon, the independent Cannuck remained just that: Unaffiliated. Not likely, though: Insiders predict it’s either UTA or CAA.
Rachel McAdams pursuit getting a little bit dramatic… – Adweek
Rachel signed to UTA but left the agency in 2013. Again she was without an agent for a while. It looks like CAA was really trying to sign Rachel. I remember that the original report from Deadline mentioned that Bradley Cooper's agent wanted to sign her:
Quote:
I hear CAA’s Dave Buligari is chasing “very intensely”.
EXCLUSIVE: Rachel McAdams Fires UTA | Deadline
But I just came across an article saying that CAA's Jim Toth was also trying to sign her:
Quote:
Meanwhile, Jim Toth isn’t taking the news of Witherspoon leaving CAA and him too hard, as reports have surfaced that he has already begun wooing actress Rachel McAdams who left her longtime agency UTA earlier this week. Toth is planning to meet with McAdams to discuss her career over drinks in Los Angeles next week and has already hired a designated driver. Desperate to Salvage Career after Arrest, Reese Witherspoon Looking For New Agency and New HusbandHollywood & Swine
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I find it interesting. While CAA/UTA/WME are probably all the top agencies, I think CAA is often considered THE agency because they rep so many a-list actors so I find it interesting that Rachel didn't sign with them. Especially given that other actors who share the same management went to CAA after the UTA drama in 2013.

I think it says a lot, that even when Rachel was really just starting all the top agencies were interested in signing her. This seems to suggest they believed in her talent, even when she was still relatively unknown at the time.
