I was at the library the other day, and I saw books by an author named Lisa Jackson. Is it bad that I immediately thought of Red Eye?

That would make me think of this movie as well. That is so not bad.

She's a romance author, right? I was googling for Jackson/Lisa stuff once, and her name came up, and I had to do a double take. You're not the only one, Belle.

Good to know I'm not the only one. I couldn't resist, just because of her name, I took one of her books out. I don't know if I'll get to it though.

Rukia, I'm not sure. From reading the back, I thought she wrote suspense. My library tagged it as 'mystery'.

Oh, you actually checked out one of her books? Which one? I googled her and found out she writes romance and romance/suspense novels. Random, but Lisa/Jackson would be great in a romance/suspense story.

It's called 'Chosen to Die'. I picked it out randomly from all of her titles, but now that I've looked it up on Amazon, I see it's the same characters as one of her other novels. Maybe I should have started there. Hopefully I won't need to have read the previous book.

Lisa/Jackson had the suspense going on. All they needed was the romance.

Interesting title. Let me know how it goes.

They definitely had the suspense, and the sexual tension was there, too.

It was just missing the romance. They had tons of chemistry as well. If they had gotten together, the story on how they met would have sounded pretty crazy.

Yeah, it would've been one crazy story -- Lisa: "Yeah, I fell in love with the terrorist who sat next to me on the plane..."

If there would've been romance between Lisa and Jackson, the movie should've just went with the romantic comedy route that was shown in the beginning... no terrorist assassination plan, any of that. But then again, it wouldn't have been a Wes Craven movie.

The first part of the trailer was kinda misleading. They even had a song that was kind of cheery.

I'm nearly done with the Lisa Jackson book. On the back, it says that she wrote more than 75 novels.

I know! The song was all happy, and Lisa and Jackson looked all happy and flirty. It was a fun trailer though.

Did you end up liking the book? Would you think it's my kinda read?

Everything was going well until they had that creepy closeup of Cillian's eye.

Nah, I don't think you'd like it much. It was more of a suspense novel (there wasn't really any romance). I don't know it it's a common feature in her books or maybe this type of genre, but there were different point of views from many characters even within chapters. Some new point of views/characters popped up midway through the book only to narrate for a few pages. It was distracting after a while, since you never stayed with a character long enough. Some of the point of views weren't really necessary (like those of her teenage kids). If anything, it kinda diluted the main storyline. That's my main complaint. The plot was just okay...

I know! Darn you, Cillian's creepy eye! Oh, and the ominous music after that didn't help things either.

Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like a mess of a book.

Didn't they turn Cillian's eye red, on top of that?

After 75 books, I'm sure there's bound to be a few duds.

Yeah, Cillian's eye did turn red in the trailer. Which was a bit misleading because his eye didn't turn red at all in the movie. From the trailer, it appeared that Cillian had some supernatural qualities because his eye turned red.

Oh, and I thought the scene in the trailer where Jackson grabs Lisa's hand from the airplane window was cool and suspenseful... too bad it didn't happen in the movie.

You're right, but I wouldn't feel up to going through all of those books in hopes of finding a good one to read.
