Scott Feinberg's first Emmy prediction post included Rachel as "possibility" for an Emmy nom:

Quote:

Sarah Paulson (The People v. O.J. Simpson)
Kirsten Dunst (Fargo)
Kerry Washington (Confirmation)
Audra McDonald (Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill)

MAJOR THREATS
Anika Noni Rose (Roots)
Lili Taylor (American Crime)
Angela Lansbury (Driving Miss Daisy)
Blythe Danner (Madoff)

POSSIBILITIES
Kristen Wiig (The Spoils Before Dying)
Lily James (War and Peace)
Rachel McAdams (True Detective)
Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone)

LONG SHOTS
Julianne Hough (Grease Live)
Shanice Williams (The Wiz Live)
Alyvia Alyn Lind (Coat of Many Colors)
Anna Camp (Saints and Strangers)
Ilana Glazer (Time Traveling Bong)
FEINBERG FORECAST: Emmy Predictions (4/30/16) - Hollywood Reporter
He also included TD as "possibility" in Best Limited Series category.

As you can see it's such a crowded year and I'm not counting on a nomination for Rachel at all, but I'm happy he included her because I was afraid people would forget her performance.

As much as TD Season 2 got bad reviews, I still want to think they wouldn't totally rule it out and might give it at least one nomination which would probably be for Rachel's performance. I agree with you Lindsey that it's a very crowded year and the frontrunners make it a very tough competition. So I don't want to get my hopes up, either. It would be such an awesome push for her career if she got an Oscar nom and an Emmy nom in the same year but... I guess you can't have it all anyway, at least we've got that Oscar nom!

Rachel's performance still got critical acclaim. I was also pleasantly surprised she got a Critics' Choice nom earlier this year. As we discussed before, the Spotlight buzz might be indirect promotion for an Emmy nom.

Rachel hasn't campaigned for it tho, she might have a bigger chance if she did but I don't think that's likely. I just hope HBO will include it in their screeners.

I'm with you guys, I'm not counting on anything. I've even basically forgotten the Emmys are coming up at all. When are nominations announced?

The nominations are announced on July 14. From Indiewire:
Quote:
Starting March 28 and running through May 2, submissions are accepted online for the 68th Annual Emmy Awards. Networks have to get their ducks in a row as to who they'll be submitting, who has a shot at winning and, of course, who deserves to have the weight of an awards campaign behind them. Nomination voting may not begin until June 13 (with nominees announced July 14), but the season itself is already underway.

Kerry Washington (Confirmation)
Audra McDonald (Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill)

POSSIBILITIES
Kristen Wiig (The Spoils Before Dying)
Lily James (War and Peace)
Rachel McAdams (True Detective)
Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone)

LONG SHOTS
Julianne Hough (Grease Live!)
Shanice Williams (The Wiz Live!)
Alyvia Alyn Lind (Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors)
Anna Camp (Saints & Strangers)
Ilana Glazer (Time Traveling Bong)

I was trying to find information about the For Your Consideration Campaign and it looks like HBO included it in their screeners. I found two FYC screeners on Ebay: 1) Individual one, 2) HBO box set. They both include two episodes, and according to the description of one of them they include episode 1 and 3.

Not my favorite Rachel episodes if I'm being honest, but I'm happy they at least included it in their FYC. I don't expect any noms, but I just hope somehow Rachel manages to get a nom

THR is still predicting Rachel as possibility in their latest prediction: Emmys 2016 Predictions from the Feinberg Forecast (5/21/16) - Hollywood Reporter

Fingers crossed! It's a real shame the show aired a whole year ago though.

More confirmation that HBO included True Detective into their For Your Consideration Campaign. The front:

The TD booklet:

Interesting note: Looks like they are submitting Colin and Vince into the male lead category, and Rachel into the female lead category while Taylor and Kelly are submitted into the supporting categories. It also confirms they are submitting episode 1 + 3

Nomination voting has officially begun!

Hit Fix included Rachel in their Emmy ballot:
Quote:
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A LIMITED SERIES OR MOVIE
Kirsten Dunst, Fargo
Felicity Huffman, American Crime
Riley Keough, The Girlfriend Experience
Rachel McAdams, True Detective
Sarah Paulson, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Lili Taylor, American Crime

As with the corresponding male category, we've got a couple of performances here (Keough and McAdams) that transcended iffy shows. You could argue that any or all of Dunst, Huffman, and Taylor belong in the supporting field, but they were all wonderful, even if they all understandably seem destined to lose to Paulson.

The reveal of Ani's troubled past was so cliché, but I really like Rachel's performance in Ep6. She was really strong from episode 1 to 6, so she could get a nomination even if the season was so weak.

I really hope she DOES, but I'm not holding my breath. Because I agree that the season was a bit of a cluster and Ani was pretty cliche, but I thought Rachel did so great in the role and it was so different for her that I'd really love her to be celebrated for that.

I'm not counting on anything. Emmys seem even more competitive compared to the Oscars these days, with so many series being considered. I still think she deserves a nom, even given this season.

HBO launched it's FYC website, and it also includes a page for True Detective: True Detective - For Your Consideration | HBO

I haven't seen any online FYC ads yet for True Detective, while I did see ads for other HBO shows (Game of Thrones, The Leftovers, Jon Oliver ...). HBO seems to have given up on it's chances as well. I just wished they would have submitted other episodes and support Rachel getting a nom.

I just can't believe they wouldn't support at least HER getting a nomination since she's Oscar nominated this year too, like get it together, guys.

Agreed. I don't expect that Rachel (and her team) will do a campaign themselves.

We are doing a rewatch over at the Taylor board during this lull while he disappears and we just watched episode 7, I feel like that was definitely Rachel's best. I don't know why HBO didn't submit that episode for her or just in general some of the later episodes were the better episodes.

I think Rachel is far and away the best opportunity for True Detective to be nominated. I wish HBO was campaigning harder for her.
