I think that at certain times Rachel put on a bit of an accent but it wasnt too extreme.

I liked the Southern accent. I heard more at the beginning, but maybe it was because I was used to it in the middle of the movie.

I remember a Rachel interview where she says that she took some piano lessons and some other classes to prepare for the role of Allie, but she dropped French because it was conflicting with her Southern accent.

I think that she did a good job because it wasnt to strong and then it wasnt really weak. You only heard it at certain points and you would be able to tell she was from the south.

I can't be certain it was 49 that Allie started having episodes of Altheimzer's but there's something in the book about her having episodes, fairly far apart, but as she got older they got closer together and eventually she'd "go away" for a while and then only come back for a short time...if that makes sense..lol

Definitley would love to see how she would pull that off. I'm sure she could but it would be lovely to see.

And I agree that I would have liked to see Allie progress from her teen love to the point when her Alzheimers really kicked in. Rachel would have done a great job with some of those scenes
