Yeah, but it would be less intense. They would just be bitching about lack of JD and would lose interest in the rest soon enough.

I wouldn't want it without Logan though.. well I would still watch it, but it would mean Veronica would have some other love interest that she'd end up with, because every movie in existance does, and then I'd think the L/V shippers would have a right to bitch at least with the ending we got it was open ended.. with a movie they'd really have to wrap everything up at the end, and I think with this fandom open ended is actually better, heh. At least everyone's happy that way. Well, not happy, but no-one feels screwed over

I don't think RT would ever wrap anything up. He'd leave it open-ended, even if it's a movie. When I'm objective and out of having read millions of fanfics mode, I actually don't want Veronica to end up with Logan. I would actually find the thought that she ended up with her high school/college boyfriend very sad.

So you think it's sad that Jason is married to his high school girlfriend? this is tv anyway, couples ending up together is never about what's realistic, heh. And with a fanbase as small as this one is in the first place, they need everyone to go see it, and no-one's going to want to go watch a movie involving Veronica falling in love with some random we've never met before. And I just don't see it happening without any sort of romantic interest for her. But I'd be happy for it to be L/V inclined and still be open ended, heh. But that rarely happens.. people don't like to go watch a movie and still be left unsatisfied with things left open ended, unless there are going to be sequels

I'm not touching the Jason question. Because I don't know Jason nor Lauren and have no idea about their relationship. However, for Veronica, I would be sad if she never got away from Neptune in some way, and that includes marrying someone who she didn't go to High School with, who wasn't involved in the hell it was for her. But I digress, my opinion isn't a popular one and I don't want to start a huge discussion before we even have any news about a movie. Plus I do know that american/english and 'european' views on this topic differ to some degree.

I would go watch a movie as long as it's about Veronica. Your argument kind of bugs me because I hate that people forget that the series was about Veronica and her life. Not Logan and Veronica and their love story. And a huge part of fandom kind of keeps forgetting that Logan is just a supporting character and not the main focus of the show. What I'm saying is that I would go see a VM movie as long as it had at least V, however, I would not go see a Logan Echolls movie, even if it had a bit of V. I'd get it on DVD.

But I agree, that for the reasons you listed, which is the smallness of the fandom in the first place and the rabidness of it, there cannot really be a movie without Logan and some hints at LoVe, or a full-out LoVe-ending. I would probably enjoy the movie the most if it was in some way open-ended but ended on a good note between the two. The rest of the fandom would probably be disappointed.

But if they wait until a time when KB has a huge following based on the rest of her work, they can do whatever they want with Veronica, because people would go see it because of her and not because they used to be VM fans.

ETA: Sorry for the rant. No idea where it came from.

And Heroes was never about Kristen or Elle, she was always a minor character, yet people are refusing to watch the show now she's been killed off.. what's the difference? it's the same prinicpal here, for some people a ship is their favourite part of a show, so if they got totally screwed over then they would be less interested in seeing the movie obviously I'd personally still be excited about it, but L/V are my all time #1 OTP and I was so completely invested in them for 3 years, so I would be pretty depressed after getting the nice ending on the show, if they then had a movie and just forgot all about them I'm not saying it would have to be a huge focus or anything, I'd be happy with just hints, I just wouldn't want their relationship to be ignored. Just like the Sex and the City movie - sure people loved Carrie on her own, everyone loved her and the fact that she was awesome and independent and did her own thing, and the main focus was always on the friendship between the four girls.. but there still would have been uproar if she hadn't ended up with Big

The difference for me, is that I for example never watched Heroes because of Hereos itself. I never would have seen it or stuck with it for as long as I did if Kristen hadn't joined the cast. People who loved Heroes because of Heroes and stopped watching just because Elle was killed bugged me too. For me, I differentiate in my mind. When I'm only there for the ship, then I know I'm only there for the ship. But I say so. I never pretend to care about the rest of the show more than casually. The difference I see, is that I watched Heroes for Elle, like people watched VM for Logan or LoVe, but I never attacked other characters or actors that were more in the focus of the show than Elle because I wanted more of her. Because going in, I knew the show wasn't about Elle and it never would be. Does the difference I see in this come across? Never watched Sex and the City so that comparison went completely over my head. I'd compare it with Gilmore Girls. Luke/Lorelai is my favourite OTP. I adored them, loved them, obsessed over them. But when I started feeling like they weren't right for each other, I was ok with it. I wouldn't need a GG movie to be about them. If they never mention Luke I'd still watch it. Because it's the show I loved and Luke/Lorelai were a part of that, but it was primarily the show I loved. I just don't understand how people can say they love the show in its entirety and then start to hate it because of one aspect of it. Part of my love for Luke/Lorelai makes me want them to be happy. If they are happy with other people, or on their own and alone, then so be it.

I just typed up this huge long response but now I don't want to post it because I don't want this to go on forever I loved VM, I defended it til the very end when everyone was ditching it, heh, I never got pissy over L/V breaking up and V/P being together in the end and L/V not ending up together, but they were always my favourite part of the show. I enjoyed watching all of it, but when it came to being emotionally invested in it, L/V were the main thing that did that for me. If they had become non-existant, a bit of my excitement for the show would have died too. And that's just how I felt, can't help that, I don't think it makes me a bad fan I'd have felt exactly the same if there was no Keith/Veronica and Wallace/Veronica relationships. Those relationships are what made the show so great to me and I think losing any of them would be losing a huge part of what made the show so special. If you don't agree then fine, but I don't think I'm wrong or less of a fan of the show for feeling that way.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't criticizing you. Our views just differ and I was trying to express mine, because sometimes I feel suffocated by the sheer pressure the LV fans could start. You said something that brought that feeling back and I might have reacted a bit more vehemently than I should have. But LV wasn't the thing about VM that got me hooked, nor was it the most important part of the show for me. I think, when it comes down to it, none of Veronica's relationships were important enough for me to a degree where I wouldn't have watched the show or felt something was terribly missing if they had been taken out. I was fascinated by Veronica as a character, no matter which setting.

Just to make sure we are on the same page, I never wanted to make you feel like I was implying you were less of a fan for feeling the way you do. Or that you were wrong. Your view isn't wrong.

The bottom line is that to some degree I see VM as an art piece. And I want artistic freedom for RT, so he can write whatever he wants to and if people like it they'll see it. I don't want him to write something just because he's tendering to the fans. And I felt like this would happen if he wrote Logan in just because people want him to do that. I'd rather have a Logan free movie than a Logan with a stupid storyline that people will hate.

Anyway, that's the last I'm saying on this topic.

Has anyone read any good L/V fics lately? One good one that is set in the future was updated recently.
