Charles Michel, President of the European Council, is hosting a high-level event on "Women in conflicts" at the EU delegation to the United Nations. Join us on Tuesday 21 September at 16h00 in New York, or via live stream at 22h00 CET on the Council's Twitter and Facebook channels. This event is co-hosted by the EU and the UN in partnership with UN Women and the Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation. The High-Level event will bring the voices and experiences of women in conflict to the forefront of the international arena. Guest speakers will include Nobel Peace Prize laureates Nadia Murad and Dr. Denis Mukwege, as well as leaders from Afghanistan, Syria and Colombia. Gender Equality Champion Kristen Bell will also join, together with leaders from all regions of the word. The event will reaffirm the commitments of world leaders to the protection of women and girls in conflict and to their full, equal and meaningful participation.
