I dont think so, if the script were well done, it cant go wrong, like Hancock with will smith. No one or almost no one knew this Hero, but it turns in a good movie or at least had good box office.

the good box office was mostly cus Will Smith was attached to it.. haven't watched it but it got some pretty ****ty reviews..

Yeah, Hancock was pretty mediocre.

I'm no expert on comic books, but from what I gather Dazzler is either a) shown great disdain by the bulk of the comic-reading populace or b) unknown by everyone else (I fit into the latter until I looked her up). For testament to Part A, I present this (scroll to #6). Anyone who frequents that site can attest that they seem to be pretty well tapped into the psyches of a lot of comic readers. The project itself just gives me bad vibes and I don't think it's the kind of character KB will want her name attached to in the long run. If she wants to sing, she should take a break from the screen and go back to musical theatre for a bit; I don't think there's much of a market for a disco-dancing, rollerskating superhero whose power is basically nothing more than glorified fireworks and strobe lights.

somehow doubt that one's going to be a flop, hee. Well, I guess that depends on who they cast

I like the idea of Wicked.

Dazzler was created for the Disco era, that would require a change, Kristen should stay away from it!

OMG I just saw the Wicked imdb and I'm amazed that almost everyone there on the bord is wanting KB to play Glinda!!

and if she plays Glinda we will finally be able to see her in a princess dress in a movie, since her actual disney movie (WIR) didnt bring it to us.

She does seem to be a really popular choice

after seeing it, I really do think she'd be perfect. A part of me would always be worried though because it has such hardcore fans, that if people didn't think she was perfect, she'd probably get really hated on and criticized, and that wouldn't be much fun!

Criticism is inevitable, though, regardless of how well she does in the role. I doubt that will be a deterrent for her. I've never seen Wicked, though, and it's doubtful I ever will, so I can't really comment on her aptitude for the Glinda role. I'll probably check it out if she becomes involved, though.

Oh I know, it'll just be annoying to have to read, heh. Hopefully it would be like with Twilight though.. when the first couple weeks after the casting announcement everyone's all "Wtf?! This is never going to work!!! This is not who was in my head!!! This movie is going to suck. Death to whoever cast this person!!!!" and then after that those same people are suddenly obsessing over them and talking about how perfect they are

But to be honest, I don't see why anyone would dislike Kristen in the role.. besides people who just don't like her in general, heh. And their opinions don't count

she has the looks, she has the acting ability, and she has a stage background. She ticks all the boxes! Hee.

It's kind of like, and I hate to pull out a tired example, but it seems appropriate, how no one thought Heath Ledger was going to be a good Joker when he was first cast, and there was quite an uproar. He proved all the naysayers wrong, though, and gave one of the most fauned over performances of recent memory. In the same way, Kristen could absolutely convert any of her non-fans that would, for whatever reason, take issue with her being cast.
