I'm with the people hoping this won't be a standard romantic comedy with a cute blonde. But KB pre-VM used to be godo at choosing roles that were just a little different, so I'm hoping that's the case with this new project too.

I have the same concerns. I don't know, I just thought she'd do something else and not another romcom. I'll already be suffering through a Disney movie for her, and not sure I want to go that route again so soon for the Queen of Babble. But I have not read the book so I should reserve judgement. It does scare me a bit that it's a series and she might be tied to do more than one, and I fear they might be just trying to make a movie out of it because of the Princess Diaries and not because the book deserves to be a movie. But maybe there is more than meets the eye about this character. It is another movie, and one that seems will generate a lot of press so we'll get pics and interviews and that in and of itself makes me happy.

What would be great is that if she's working on this one, but she also gets more serious ones like Spartan, etc, at the same time. I actually think it would be silly for her to turn down a lead role in a multi-movie offer, unless it's just horrible, which I don't think is the case. She can always do other things in between.

Seriously though, I see Charlize Theron in roles and she's absolutely gorgeous and talented, but I look at what she's doing and think, 'Kristen would kick ass in that role', just as I look at Edward Norton in The Illusionist or Ryan Gosling in Fracture and know that Jason could have knocked that role out of the park as well, if he had been given the opportunity. IMO, getting recognition and getting their names out there is what's going to get those amazing roles they want to do.

Exactly, I mean.. in Hollywood, how many short, young-looking blondes do you see in lead movies roles outside of the rom-com/lame horror movie genre? Her looks are a big factor in what roles people are going to offer her. I have no doubt that if she got offered something really interesting and challenging, she'd go for it. But if she isn't getting scripts she likes.. what can she do. I'd take a big successful rom-com over another Pulse anyday

Exactly, I try to reserve my judgment till I see a movie, but I can't help the preconceived notions that come out before. I don't like that idea as well, of sequels. Just let it be, half the time there is never a need to make a sequel. True, I'm just looking for more than that.

Okay, but I wouldn't want her to be pigeonholed in those roles. There has got to be more opportunities out there, I've seen blondes in other things beside that. That could be true, but I don't think that she is only getting offered romantic comedy roles and if so then I would want for something better to come along. I'd take neither, that is where we differ. I believe you shouldn't just do movie because that is all there is. There are many great actors out there who aren't as well known, but are in different roles and great films. I don't mind a romantic comedy, just not for every film.

It has to be really nice to be able to buy a whole new wardrobe. Maybe Disney even paid for it since it was lost during a business trip for them

I don't think Kristen is physically or mentally able not to work. Even if she knows it's crappy work, I'm pretty sure she needs to be working on something. So I rather she's happy with what she has and hope the next one will be a better role than she has nothing else and is unhappy because she has no work. It kind of sucks that it's the third romcom in a row, but I'm not even sure whether it's a romcom. The description does not really mention a significant other.

She just seems to be having a lot of fun doing comedies right now, she loved working on FSM, she's clearly loved working on WIR.. so I'm just glad she's doing movies she enjoys making.

I looked up the book and it's in her adult fiction section, so I guess it wouldn't be a kids movie like Princess Diaries. Kristen would be back to playing younger again though, seeing as Lizzie is just graduating from Univeristy! Part of the book takes place in London, so if that means they're filming over here I am very excited about this

She's a little klutzy, it's just a part of her personality but it turns out for the best ! Lizzie this is! You should read them, I really liked them. ^__^
