Marty (DON CHEADLE) and the Pod head to Las Vegas to help an aging casino regain its luster. They are joined by Tamara (NIA LONG), Galweather Stearn’s newest partner-level consultant and rival of Marty’s from business school. Clyde (BEN SCHWARTZ) is seduced by the VIP bottle-service Las Vegas nightlife. His ties to club owners, the Dushkin Twins (EVAN HART, TAYLOR HART), will prove to be valuable to Marty. Jeannie (KRISTEN BELL) finds a passive-aggressive foe in Galweather Stearn’s interim CEO, Julianne (BESS ARMSTRONG).

drunk jeannie is ridiculously funny.
fun and interesting powerplay dynamics happening all over the place.
good to see that marty is finding everything as awkward as jeannie.

jeannies conversation with the new boss and telling marty that they had sex were both brilliant little scenes.
doug getting accosted by Elvis was also good fun 'do you wanna die twice'.

plus that scene at the end. perfect.

all in all, i didn't enjoy it as much as last week, but it was still pretty great.

i'm really enjoying that the story is linear in structure and isn't bouncing around with the new client of the week deal, rather, one client seems to be running straight into the next. i.e. last week they met pinkus, this week they tried to help pinkus, next week they try sell an idea to an enemy of pinkus.

nia's character kinda annoyed me love that jeannie got drunk again. and the fact marty said i love you back to her. i love the tension between marty and jeannie lol. this season is really amazing so far!

it really is. it almost feels like a different show.
there was more of everyone that matters. apart from nia, who yeah, i wasn't exactly a fan of either. i guess she will be a pretty good foil, but she could get a little annoying. (i think she is only in 4 or 5 episodes though, so it shouldn't be too bad )

definitely loving the flow of the season so far


marty saying 'i love you' back is a lot more surprising to me than jeannie saying it to him. still not sure what i want with jeannie/marty but damn is kb and don playing the tension so well in these eps.

and i like tamara more than i expected i would. i mean she just gives as good as she gets. and i like her and jeannie's spat. also love jeannie's talk with julianne. enjoying her as a foil for jeannie more than i did skip for marty.

i know right? i was not expecting that. i actually wasn't ever expecting to find out what he said at all, let alone that he loved her back... it does make the interactions moving forward very interesting. especially since at least one of them now remembers that fact.

and yes. jeannie vs julianne is so much stronger (and more believable) an interaction that skip marty ever was in my opinion. i hope they continue to develop that.

i really hate how much chemistry don and kristen have, because it makes me want more of them, but i still hate marty as a character so much.

doug was AMAZING this episode "do you want to die twice motherf-?"

i pretty much agree with this. hate is a strong word for my feelings... but i don't really find myself rooting for him, and i don't actually like him. so there's that.
