I'm hit and miss with lifetime movies, some are just too cheesy and you can't even get sucked into them because of that. But I really liked this one, I think maybe because Kristen was in it I gave it more of a chance?

I think with this cast it was really made strong. If it had been made with other people, who knows...

I love this movie. I want to buy it on DVD soon. Kristen was fantastic in this movie. I get freaked out by the scene when moms skeazy boyfriend whatever number he was... Tried to rape her and her mother blamed her. Ick. What a bitch, but Kristen was so great in that scene and in that movie. Has anyone noticed they like to give Kristen some type of family issues in movies?

Gracie's Choice - Abandoned by abusive father and abused by drug addict mother.
Veronica Mars - Alcoholic mother leaves them
King and Queen of Moonligh Bay - Dad left when she was six and is an alcoholic.

Spartan - I don't remember the exact details but well it's not a happy little family there either

Wow, this thread was buried!

I just saw the movie today, finally, and.. wow. From what I'd read about the movie I knew Kristen would be good, but I didn't know she would be this good. She completely blew me away, and.. I cried and that doesn't happen too often. And it wasn't even sad crying, it was happy crying at the end! That happens even less!

This is the kind of role I want Kristen to have on the big screen. It showed the enormous range she has and she was just phenomenal. Everyone needs to be able to see how amazing she is

She's really good. The movie itself was surprisingly good since I hate 99.9% of what's shown on Lifetime.

I've never seen any other Lifetime movies, but yeah, I wasn't expecting much but it was surprisingly good. And although Reefer still holds the spot for my favourite Kristen movie, this is definately my favourite of hers acting-wise.

I love this movie. It's the reason I gave VM a chance because I recognized KB even after a year and a half (that never happens). It's my favourite of hers and acting wise it just rocks. I cried the first time too. It was surprisingly good for a Lifetime movie, they usually suck. But this one I've seen sooo many times. *sighs*

It's definately one I'll be watching again too! The thing with Kristen is I never need to have any time to adjust to her as a different character. Usually if I've seen someone in a TV show for 3 years, when I see them in a different role it takes me a while to get used to it. But Kristen just makes me forget about Veronica from like, her first sentence especially in this movie. Plus, I love her accent changes. Hee.

Yeah, that's true. I saw BISS last week and kept having flashbacks to Gilmore Girls when Lauren Graham was on, but Kristen never does that. Even when the characters are similar, she completly changes even the way she holds herself. It's amazing and the reason why I love her so much. I have to say though that I have never particularly noticed her accent changes. When does she do one for example?

Well she has an accent in this movie, not a strong one but it's definately not her own. And her Southern (I think - I'm not too not an American accents ) accent in Deadwood

Oh yeah I remember the one in Deadwood now. I mostly remembered the dubbed version. But the fact that I don't remember her doing accents is actually positive, because it means she's doing it flawlessly so I don't notice anything off. I don't recognize accents, but I see it when someone's butchering one.

Hee, exactly! You just forget that she's putting on an accent because it seems so natural. With some actors you're cringing the entire way through everytime they say something that sounds ridiculous

I have been reading through this thread thinking at the start that I hadn't watched it but as you guys have been talking about and describing scenes I realised I have seen this without even realising it was Kristen as I watched it way before I started watching VM. I even recorded as i loved it so much so now I'm happy that Kristen is in it and I have another one of her movies

Hee, that's awesome. It does seem to be a movie that everyone's seen without even realizing
