mine were pretty dull, so to think it never gets any better than that is a depressing thought

Chasing after something is the very reason people go to college in the first place; they're chasing after a career. That career is intended to improve the life and well-being of the person chasing after it. If they're told, and believe, the chase is the fun part, though, then why pursue a career at all? If one subscribes to the belief that the years chasing their goal were the best times of their lives, then why are they hoping to rush onward to those inferior years of work? It's human nature to chase after something better, otherwise we'd all become vagrants and low-lives because it's easier. The idea one's vital peak occurs by their early 20's is horrifically morbid.

hs wasnt all that great.. still have 3 years of college left though.. will just have to make the best of it

cus that's life?

i dont think life is gonna be that much greater after school but i'm still at college getting a degree. guess it is chasing something better just in terms of survival.. shelter, food, etc but iono.. i still dont think my best years are gonna be when i'm out and about working

You can have food and shelter without a degree; work at a minimum wage job and sleep at the Salvation Army. It's the motivation to achieve and perhaps have a life with the luxury of a bit of frivolity that moves most to strive for higher education. I really just think the whole adage is bull****. Of course if you think everything after college is going to be inferior, it's going to be inferior.

I find it a little ironic I'm being the optimistic one here.

i just think these are probably gonna be the years i enjoy the most and i'm fine with that

They don't have to be, though.

The years after college will be different, but they don't have to be worse and you can find just as much enjoyment in them, though it may come from different things. Or so I imagine.

I need to take a writing class in the fall or something. My urge to rant has boiled over.

It's been about a year and a half. My prerequisites included two writing classes, which I got out of the way in my first two semesters of college. Despite my inclination to rant, they weren't particularly enjoyable classes, and I don't really want to retake them for no reason. I'm not the type to rant on LJ.

I guess I'll just bottle it up and periodically let it explode all over

Maybe. Another option I've considered is a journalism class, though it may be a bit too late to really get into that. Writing for the college paper would be cool, though.
