Episode Discussion: 3.13 Postgame Mortem

Quote:
No sooner has Wallace (Percy Daggs III) rejoined the Hearst basketball team, when the basketball coach, Tom Barry (guest star Matt McKenzie), is found dead. The coach's widow, Kathleen Barry (guest star Tracey Needham), hires Keith (Enrico Colantoni) to investigate the murder of her husband and to clear her son, Josh (guest star Jonathan Chase), who is Sheriff Lamb's (Michael Muhney) prime suspect. Logan (Jason Dohring) is wallowing in self-pity after his breakup with Veronica (Kristen Bell), so Dick (Ryan Hansen) invites two girls over to cheer Logan up, but Logan gets stuck entertaining Heather (guest star Juliette Goglia), who is only 13 years old. Keith and Veronica discover that the alibis given by Mindy O'Dell (guest star Jamie Ray Newman, "E Ring") and Professor Landry (guest star Patrick Fabian, "Joan of Arcadia") do not match.
Discuss.

Sounds good. Finally, Wallace is going to be in this one. Logan's storyline sounds, hum, interesting.

I wish there had been more Wallace (and Cliff!) this episode, but I still really loved it. I wish the promo monkeys hadn't spoiled the cliffhanger of Veronica being arrested. I'm also not sure why Veronica seemed so open to Josh. I get that she's emotional to the thought of losing her father (and that was a nice scene between her & Keith), but I don't know...I swear to God I thought he was going to push her off the cliff at one point.

I have to say, I loved the call back to Rapes of Graff when Keith had said to Cliff that he became tight with Neptune Grand security when his daughter was dating the billionaire staying in the penthouse. Heh. It made me smile. As did Logan's "I know A lawyer," which was my favorite line of the night.

And of course I thought the elevator scene between Logan/Veronica/Heather was hysterical.

Can't wait for next week!

It was a great episode.

I didn't watch any promo, so I was shocked when Veronica got arrested at the end. I've gotta say I didn't see it coming, and I wonder how Josh did it.

I kept thinking the same thing. I was so expecting him to try and push her off. There's just something off about Josh.

The elevator scene was hilarious. I loved how Heather kept nudging Logan, and everyone in the elevator could hear her.

My favorite line of the night is from Jeff Rattner: "Take it from the guy who cleans after him, you don't want what's left of Logan Echolls."

Hee, I wondered why on earth she was standing at the edge of a cliff with a suspected murderer too silly Veronica. I was actually surprised when he didn't try anything.
I think how nice she was to him was just down to her wanting him to trust her though. Like she told Keith, she wanted him to believe that she believed hi,, even though she wasn't sure she did yet. Hence the cookies and such.

I thought the scene with her and Keith was really sweet too. I know a lot of people thought it was kinda randomly placed, how she just suddenly got upset and then seemed to switch it off, but I thought it was realistic. I get like that sometimes, like something just hits you like it hit her, and you get all emotional. But then you just tell yourself "shut up and get over it" and change the subject

The Logan/Heather stuff was awesome, and the elevator scene was classic. Heather was totally channeling all the LV fangirls in that scene and hee, the radio dedication, and everyone's reactions to it were great.

I would've been too, but because of the promo I was waiting the entire episode for it to happen.

There really is. He creeps me out.

That one was good too!

Seriously! I mean, it's not like there haven't been other people who have tried to kill her. You'd think she'd be more...cautious.

I get that as well, but it still seemed a little off. Maybe it was just me.

I've had those moments too where something presses your buttons just right and you have a total emotional reaction to it. But it's easier to turn that emotion off when you're only dealing with a hypothetical and you can tell yourself that you're overreacting.

She really was! My husband turned to me during that scene and said, "I bet that's how you reacted when you were in the same room with Kristen Bell & Jason Dohring."

Not nearly enough Wallace. I was so happy to see him but for just one scene was so disappointing.

OMG, I so thought he was going to push her off the cliff as well!!!

My favorite parts, no surprise, were all the Logan scenes. And man was JD looking hot! I loved all his interactions with Heather. So freaking cute.

And the eleveator scene............my fave.

I know. Isn't he, like, Veronica's best friend or something? You wouldn't know it if you'd never watched the show prior to season three. *sigh*

Logan & Heather were my favorite part too. JD should never ever shave.

I forgot to mention how much I loved Dean O'Dell's letter. So sweet! It also helped to get Veronica & Keith more personally involved in the investigation, which is a good thing.

Great episode and the ending. O_O

I loved that we saw more of Lamb and that tiny bit more of Wallace. There has been serious lack of Wallace and Mac this season. Also lack of Piz

Veronica/Keith scenes were sweet, especially the one near the end where she asked him never to get killed.

So much cuteness. The next episode looks like it's going to be a good one.
