How will it be different than the rest of your filmography?
It’s a great opportunity for me to play something a little bit darker, a little bit sexier, because I’m so often cast as the girl next door because I’m small and I have a high-pitched voice. Those are just obstacles I’m up against as an actor – sometimes it’s hard for people to see you in different scenarios and as different characters. She’s a burlesque dancer, which is something sexier than I’ve ever done before and more adult. She’s an alcoholic, and it’s nice to play different roles.

Will it blow people’s minds when they see you as an alcoholic burlesque dancer?
I don’t know if it’ll blow their mind. [Laughs] I’ll just hope that they like it.

"There's a competition between the two of us," she said. "I really want to sing and she's allowed to sing at the club so we fight...In the end when all is well, they may sing together. I almost wish they wouldn't, because I would rather just listen to Christina."

Definitely very different, although we've never really heard her sing anything in a non-theatrey way besides One Way and Fame, hee.

Hasn't she said that she was really uncomfortable doing "One Way or Another" because it's not the kind of song she's accustomed to? I could have sworn I read a quote to that effect somewhere. She's most likely going to need to ramp up the soul and blues for this role.

Yes. But she wasn't uncomfortable with the song because of it's type, but because of the voice you need to have to pull it off. She has soprano or at least mezzo soprano and you needed at least alto for that song. KB sings higher than "One Way or Another" needs to be sung.

You found Fame non-theatery Kirsty? How?

Whatever kind of singing this will be, I hope it gets her a guest spot on Glee and a duet with Lea.
