^ Ah, I see.
  Katy has seemed like the kind of person who has been constantly trying to keep things together, for herself and her daughter. That kind of person can feel frazzled and lost if she doesn't have someone to turn to...but Topanga's presence in her life seems to make her feel like she can stay afloat and keep it together. I think Topanga is a calming influence on Katy. __________________

^ I agree. I always thought that Topanga didn't have enough female friends when she was in school. Katy would have been a wonderful friend to her then. I can definitely imagine them forging their lifelong friendship back in high school.
