I guess the bay window was a place where Riley had more of an emotional attachment - plus Maya climbed into the window later in the scene

yeah I feel like the bay window was also a spot where Riley always had serious talks because she always had her serious talks with Maya in the window.

That's the only explanation that makes sense.

I'm just going to think that Topanga knew that Riley needed her, so she found her at the bay window, and she sat quietly with her. That's all Riley needed from Topanga, for her to know that Topanga was there for her, showing her love and giving her support. It's such a sweet thought.

^ Me too. Topanga must have done it a few times, since Riley knew exactly where she was going.

I think Topanga went killer shark on Riley's behalf when she knew that it was worth the fight.

Yeah, & I think that Topanga was definitely a mama bear, whenever there was a threat to her baby, she was gonna go after it

^ Exactly. I think Topanga had to pick her battles on Riley's behalf. Sometimes Topanga went mama bear and made sure Riley's 'enemies' knew not to mess with her. Other times Topanga steered clear of the problems so that Riley figured out how to find her own solutions.

Yeah, I hope she knew when to do which, because I feel like she probably was overprotective of Riley for most of her life

^ I think so too. At a certain point in Riley's life, Topanga will have to learn that she can't always step in and make everything better. Topanga has to let Riley figure things out on her own.

^ Right? Topanga won't always be there to make everything better for Riley. Sooner or later, Riley will have to solve some of her own problems. I think Topanga would want that Riley to get herself out of trouble and solve her own problems.

Plus, in that episode, I think they also needed to teach Riley that it wasn't the end of the world if she didn't do well in a class, instead of just going after that teacher
