^ Once she sat down and spoke to him in their first interaction (i.e. Home for the Holidays), I think Maya let down her guard and she got to know him, and she realized why people were such big fans of Shawn. When that happened, I think it was so easy for her to enjoy him being in her orbit.

^ I think so too. Shawn has always been likeable, and it probably didn't take long for him to show her that he lived up to the hype.

Definitely, Shawn was always so cool - there was no way that Maya would be able to help herself even though she tried not to like him

^ Oh, yes. The only strike against Shawn was his cool treatment of Riley that made her feel bad. When Maya saw that there was a reason for that, and when she realized that they had very similar childhoods, she got to know him and she saw the person that everyone told her he was. =)

^ Oh, yes. I don't think the people in Maya's life that knew Shawn told her about that side of Shawn's past. They probably wanted her to get to that conclusion on her own, like after she met him and got to know him in her own time.

True, I think they probably told her little bits - probably just enough to intrigue her, like she'd pull a prank & Cory would just roll his eyes & say 'Shawn did a better version of that years ago', but then not give her any details
