Their goodbye scene still crushes me, I also hate they quickly wrote Angela off before the last episode RME. She should of been there for that. I'm still torn on Shawn letting Angela go with her father. I wish he would of proposed cause I loved how much he was going to fight for Angela to stay with him but after Shawn lost his father it also makes sense he let Angela spend time with her father. You never know how long people are going to be here so no one should take it for granted. The GMW plot driven rewrite is not canon to me, I could EASILY see Shawn and Angela get back together after that.

^ Me too. Even though it breaks my heart, part of me appreciates the fact that they got to say goodbye in the penultimate episode. They were the main focus of that episode, so we got to see them have a proper goodbye.


What a moment. I knew that it was important that Angela got to spend time with her father, but it broke my heart that Shawn and Angela had to separate for it to happen. I always hoped that they would find their way back to each other.

Me too, it was clear that they were only breaking up because of the situation with her father, & it had nothing to do with their feelings or them not working as a couple. I really feel like they would have found their way back to each other

Yeah, and it wasn't really a break up. They were just going to be apart for a year, which can be a challenge but considering how much Shawn fought to get Angela back and them both reaffirming their love for each other they weren't just going to give up on each other so easily.

Exactly. It was such a tough situation for them. No matter what they decided to do, someone was going to get hurt. It sucks that it broke both of their hearts.

I didn't fully feel like it was a breakup either - if it wasn't for Shawn saying goodbye after she had left, I wouldn't think that he did either, but I think that was just the pessimist in him. I think Angela truly believed that she would come back to him, & even if he didn't believe it (or couldn't, because he was scared to get his hopes up), he'd still get back with her in a heartbeat when she did come back

^ You got that right. Nothing about that goodbye scene made me think that it was the end of their love story. It felt more like a pause. I just didn't expect that they weren't going to end up together a few years down the line.

Yeah, I could understand their lives taking them down different paths for a little while, but it seemed like they would come back together. Even in the flashforward episode, they had the same careers & could easily have carried on travelling the world together
