^ Oh, I still think that Riley or Maya can surprise each other or surprise Smackle. It just seems to me that Smackle is the wild card within the trio, and if any one of them is going to make an unexpected choice, it is going to be her.

 Maya can probably surprise Riley a lot, while Riley will rarely surprise HER (sometimes might think she's surprising her but Maya's just humoring her )__________________

 I can also imagine each of them being given a problem which would prompt them to pose a solution, and then it would end up as a debate about why each idea wouldn't work. Each girl would defend her idea till the end of time.     __________________
