^ I get what you mean. I just ship whoever I want and hope that TPTB have a plan to maybe, one day, in the near or distant future, put that ship together.
As for watching the first episode of a series and figuring out who TPTB have dubbed the ship-of-the-series...ah, if only that is how it happens with me. I usually channel-surf past an episode of a show that I'm not watching...which gets my attention for one hot minute...which makes me get hooked on a ship...which compels me to start the show from the beginning. *** Aw, this is so Lucas and Maya! - Sarah Dessen, The Truth About Forever x __________________

Yeah my ships always vary too, they are all so different from one another and I don't always like the same types. Its mostly about chemistry for me and whether I see it or not.
But more often than not I always like pairings that have angst or banter. amazing gifset! I miss them a lot! __________________

I think I tend to like the ships that feel natural. I'm not a believer in love at first sight or people being 'meant to be', so I don't go for those kinds of ships, or the ones that always talk about how they're meant to be because no real life couples talk like that - at least not past the age of 16
I like seeing two people who don't know each other, get to know each other & then see their feelings for each other slowly start to change. I don't want it to start at true love, I want it to be earned. Maybe when they first meet they don't get on, they argue. But they get to know each other, they become friends, they grow closer, they have romantic feelings for each other, they fall in love, they deny it & fight it for a while - but then they finally give things a chance. Then when they are together, they learn how to actually be together, the give & take, how to comprimise. They value each other & what they have, so they work to nurture their relationship. I'm all about those journies..... Lucas & Maya got through the first couple stages.... __________________

oh yeah i am all abut the journey and couples with build up. i dont like already established couples or couples that get together too fast, it just totally kills it for me.

Angst is something that unknowingly choose with my ships too. I know. It's tough when a show ends without giving the shippers proper closure. Quote:
A thousand times 'yes!'. I have a handful of the love stories that start off as 'love at first sight's...but for the most part, I just love seeing the sparks very early on, and watching the journey for those two characters to fall in love and be a couple. Yes, they did. Sadly, we have to fill in the post-series blanks. __________________

To go with earlier on this page, for sure I tend to have trouble with the 'meant to be from the staff's/'main' ships of shows because they tend to feel too given, like there's nothing to hope for, I know they'll win out more often than not, you know?

i never ever like already established couples. ever.
i can like the "meant to be" pairings sometimes, but again, only if they have some build up and angst, not the ones that kiss too quick or get together too fast. |

I have one pairing that I guess is a 'meant to be' as in, it's a sci-fi show where they were literally made to be together, but the show never treated them that way & they never even got a chance to be together
.....actually, that's probably the main theme in my ships, them not getting a chance __________________

No, I haven't heard of them I don't know if you watched Roswell, but I was talking about Michael & Isabel
I think the only couple I shipped who went on to be endgame where the show started off as triangle & they were the underdogs is Zoe & Wade from Hart of Dixie I've had a couple endgame ships, but they weren't really ever likely not to be imo: ie. Cory/Topanga, Monica/Chandler, Jack/Kate & probably a couple others __________________
