^ That just made it better! Clearly he had paid very close attention to her. I love those reveals! It was the most unsurprising surprise for him to make those observations/conclusions about her. It was surprising because I didn't think he had noticed those details about her. It was unsurprising because there were moments where I could see him trying to figure her out.

Yeah, I think that even he was probably surprised by how much he had picked up about her, because I don't think it was intentional, he just got her

& I think that, when he was talking to Katy about her, it really got to him, because that's when he went & sat in the bay window for hours thinking about his choice - when it was obvious that he had chosen Maya

Me too, & I think that would have been really good for her if they were together - because a lot of people around her just saw her as a person who things didn't work out for, & I think that made her start to believe that. Lucas would have changed all that for Maya

^ That would have been awesome to see! They sometimes seemed different to the casual observer, but I always thought their energies felt very similar to me. I don't think it would have taken much for them to meld together as a couple.

Ooh, Maya seeing Lucas in a different light -- she definitely looked intrigued. I think she might have seen how similar they were. It was one of the moments that me that their energies were similar.


Yes! Sometimes you don't realize what you notice about another person until some of those details come out when you're not thinking about it.

Well, when you do a rewatch pay special attention to that episode where Lucas is making his choice, all signs point to Maya & I think that it's very telling that in the finale, Eric told Topanga that the best way to make a choice is to sit in a quiet place that means something to you and think about it all...

& it was a great moment in that gifset, I'm sure that Maya was already into Lucas, but that scene just made it even harder for her to fight!

That's how I interpret that scene as well. He definitely became even more attractive to her when she saw that side of him.

It could not be more obvious that Lucas made the right choice in that episode - which was obviously Maya - before Maya basically told him no & we got this whole stupid Maya became Riley storyline. Shame the writers couldn't go back to that, because I can't imagine that they weren't going to.

& she definitely did I think that Maya was already fighting her feelings for him, but then when she found out he wasn't actually perfect & they actually had more in common than she though, it just made it harder for her

^ I wish I could weigh in, but it's tough when I don't remember that particular episode and that storyline. It sounds like TPTB decided on going down the Lucas and Maya love journey, but they changed their minds halfway through the execution.

Yes! I think Maya finding out that Lucas had a dark side crumbled another brick off the wall she put up. It definitely looked like she saw him in a new light, and she liked what she saw.

Hmm, can't remember off the top of my head, might have to do a rewatch...

But I think one thing that was interesting when Lucas had to choose, that everyone kept telling him to choose the girl that would keep their friendship group together, not the girl he actually wanted to be with & I think that definitely got in his head...
